  1. These look like napalm tanks to me, but may provide a basic shape with the front and aft ends of the 450's. Cheers, Andre
  2. Looking good from here! Nice work with the Milliput. Cheers, Andre
  3. Rob de Bie scratchbuilt his, albeit in 1/48th: https://robdebie.home.xs4all.nl/models/f84f.htm His page may contain some pointers. Cheers, Andre
  4. True that! In that spirit, some work done on her office - I have since removed the Honking Big Ejector Tower on the back of the instrument panel because otherwise it will interfere with the coaming part: Cheers, Andre
  5. I started fitting the quite fiddly wing fences - the outer one in the picture came pre-broken on the runner, but I think I got away with it: Cheers, Andre
  6. Here she is in her current state together with the Dutch Decals I'll use - currently I'm leaning towards 315 Squadron TB-5 in the top right corner:
  7. And here she is as of now - both the resin photopod and homemade T-33 tank fittted: She will be decaled as TP-6/K-5, just visible to her right on the Dutch Decal instuctions. Nice and colourfull, I'd say. And here she is together with her stock F-84G sister - those different tip tanks make a nice deviation from the standard IMO: Cheers, Andre
  8. Indeed. I have dremeled them out, wings fitted fine after that: Cheers, Andre
  9. Everybody loves options. Here she is now, lest you lot think I snub the sweptwings: Cockpit and splitter plate fitted. Assembly is a pleasure so far! Cheers, Andre
  10. Update!, I have been working on the wings and tip tank / recce pod. The ModelArt resin thingy does not state a specific kit for which it was intended, but I vaguely recall the Tamiya kit being recommended. The Academy appears to differ a bit in the wing tip / fuel bag setup, so some fiddling is required. As is visible in the picture above, Academy also molded part of the wing tip as part of the tip tank. A good choice for the standard setp, but requiring some additional work for my photo bird. A few passes with a scriber on the right wing tank and bits added to the wing itself: Some more fettling required - I chose to adapt the Academy plastic rather than the resin: Resin job fitted with some CA and drying: Cheers, Andre
  11. It does when you do not put the intake splitter / nose gear housing in crooked. I had to pry open the front bits and reattach: Here she is as of now - wings and tip tanks fitted. Starts to look like a Thunderjet! Nose needs a bit of filling and sanding, though. Cheers, Andre
  12. Yes, these are indeed the smaller tanks. On p.47 of the Dutch Profile the tanks on P-214 look aluminium to me, but those on p.46 on P-212 appear painted. Pure orange rather than ANA633 Dayglo (which was the official hi viz paint of the day on our Harvards, S-11's, T-33's, Beavers, Hunters etc.) is a shade that would appear to be authorized only for our national insignia. Still, stranger things have happened..! Cheers, Andre
  13. It would depend which Iraqi version you'd want - their singleseaters (F1EQ, F1EQ-2, F1EQ-4, F1EQ-5 and F1EQ-6) differed in things like RWR, IFR capability and Doppler fit which are visible externally. The best overview including drawings which point out all the little differences can be found in this book. Cheers, Andre
  14. I can imagine SH's hand was kind of forced by the release of the Sword Streak. Cheers, Andre
  15. If I bend photo etch, it stays bent! I use this hefty item to snip bits of roofers' lead sheet from the roll. That roll will probably last me a lifetime! Cheers, Andre
  16. Could unused part B6 from the SH kit be this bumper? It looks like it is designed to go in the square depression in the parabrake housing (B4) - the instructions of both the US and Suez boxings suggest puttying and sanding the square opening. My references show the tail bumper present on camouflaged Dutch Streaks and Flashes. Cheers, Andre
  17. It could still mean "underwing stores only". We'll have to wait and see! Cheers, Andre
  18. Many Intruders featured a cream yellow-ish anti erosion coating on the leading edges of the flying surfaces and pylons that is approximately FS33538. Cheers, Andre
  19. Well that escalated quickly! Cracking job, she looks great. Cheers, Andre
  20. Nose weight in place above the nose gear housing, jetpipe added and wings assembled - getting there!: Cheers, Andre
  21. Current state of play - I applied some Mig Jiminez Deep Brown PLW to the main gear bays and crammed some rooofers' lead above the nose gear bay: Jet pipe fitted as well - after taking the picture I painted some Gunze Burnt Iron around this area: So with all innards in place and nose weight added, nothing stood in my way with regards to closing her up!: Wings assembled as well. "And suddenly, as if by magic, a wild F-84E appears: Cheers, Andre
