F-104G Starfighter Academy 1/72
Hook replied to Marcin Wojciechowski's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Good choices. I could also donate a set of markings out of this Hase boxing, if these would be of help: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/hasegawa-00724-f-104g-starfighter--136745 Cheers, Andre -

Decals made to fit the new tool Hasegawa may have to be finagled a bit to fit the Academy. What decals are you planning on using? Cheers, Andre PS: I wasn't aware my Polish was that good. -

Excellent work! The Academy is indeed rather, ehm, rough around the edges. A few years ago I got one cheap, slapped it together, painted it gold and we now use it for a christmas peak. 😇 Cheers, Andre -

I think that area is a teflon-like material rather than paint. This would account for the colour differences. Cheers, Andre

Eurofighter exhaust early/late - what's the difference
Hook replied to DeepSea's topic in Aircraft Modern
I believe one or a few of the prototypes flew with Tornado-style RB.199's, at least for a while - perhaps this is what is being represented..? Cheers, Andre -
Allover outline is pretty good, as per the Monogram kits of that era. I'd say these are still very much buildable, even with the dreaded raised panel lines. Cheers, Andre

The system also collapsed due to mergers, which led to combinations like the Rolls Royce Olympus (originally a Bristol design), etcetera. Cheers, Andre -

Hook replied to DrumBum's topic in Aircraft Modern
There was also the convention of naming British engines after birds of prey (Rolls Royce piston), rivers (Rolls Royce jets), felines (Armstrong Siddely piston), gems (Armstrong Siddely jets) and mythological figures (Bristol), wasn't there? Cheers, Andre -
Are you talking about this kit?: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/skale-wings-is72001-idf-f-16-barak--1067617 If so, I do not have it myself but you can view the kit contents here. HTH, Andre

Well, when the Tornado F.3 became operational, Binbrook still flew a number of Lightning F.3's... nobody mixed those two up, to the best of my knowledge. Cheers, Andre -
