  1. watching television standing up
  2. Good use of the silver pencil, it’s great for the corners of removable panels I find.. I have been using a hairdryer to speed up the drying time of paint/varnish for several years now and for getting it quickly past the tacky stage to avoid dust and dog hairs sticking to the surfaces. John
  3. Anti-clockwise in southern hemisphere
  4. Wow! That clamp on the nose looks pretty severe, you sure it was designed for use on plastic? 😁 Beginning to look like a Corsair now. John
  5. Agreed, very impressive. Looks like it’s been operated from a crushed coral strip. John
  6. wish I’d said that ( No, not really )
  7. The tail looks to be a better fit than the nose, but I think you’ll need a mask for all the sanding. If you don’t like the idea of a mask then sand it over a dampened piece of old shirt or something similar to collect the dust. I made a series of 1/72 Javelins many years ago using the Frog then Airfix and Heller kits as donors, I think the conversions where by Maintrack and/or Airwaves, but I can’t see myself repeating the exercise in 1/48. Good luck. John
  8. Thanks for the mention John, I don’t seem to have been following this ( don’t know why because I really like Mustangs ) so I’ll have to go back to the beginning now. John EDIT. I’ve just realised why. I’ve stopped watching GBs to avoid the temptation to join them because I just can’t build to a deadline as my abysmal GB record shows, but I’ll make an exception in this case.
  9. I’m old enough to have seen quite a few F-100s. The two lasting memories are watching a Danish F100 on the apron at Yeovilton changing colour as the sun went in and out, and a USAF aircraft departing Finningy after a display, who for some reason decided not to use the afterburner and staggered off the end of the runway with only a few ft to spare. Also eagerly awaiting the next update. John
  10. Only just found this, must have been asleep! There isn’t anything to give it scale in your dry fit photos, but having built the Hasegawa 1/48 version I’d guess that it’s going to be BIG. The resin looks nice. John
  11. and lots of cardboard ( well that’s what it tasted like when I pinched one from my young nephew )
  12. Let’s hope they take better care of the Harrier. Good luck with the conversion. John
  13. I have the Alley Cat set from the first time around but haven’t started it yet , so I’ll watch yours please. John
  14. Have you decided on the cockpit interior colour? That’s another potential Keep on keeping on. John
  15. .A significant amount of progress indeed. I don’t think I’ve see a four cannon Mk V modelled before and it certainly looks different in the three coloured camouflage. John PS: the only thing ‘wrong’ with the Eduard Spitfires is the lack of a single piece upper nose cowling. I have Eduard Mk VIII, Mk IX and Mk XVI kits and have Barracuda and Ultracast replacement cowlings ( not Eduard which apparently don’t fit well ) to avoid the difficult seam on the nose.
  16. There do seem to be a lot of them. I take it from the last photo that you will not be including the inner wheel well covers then. I have started reading up on the ‘202 and the many variations depending on série and theatre of operations, in fact it could be a veritable John
