  1. Sounds a good choice Z If you put the light on and change your mind, you can always paint over the lens cover.
  2. Well done Ced, almost there. She's looking the business now.
  3. Thank you Corsaircorp. Thanks Z. You've made a great start on your Walrus. The port and starboard wings just pushed together on the main spar. The underneath of the lower wing showing wheel bay detail and weapons bays. In the next day or so, I'll start to glue the interior parts together. That will give some support to the structure, so I can then dry fit the four fuselage sections to see what the join is like. I still intend to paint them separately before gluing them together. Because of the shape, I'm sure I will have to adjust the fit slightly. I can then just spray paint the seams all being well.
  4. Great progress Z. The interior looks very good.
  5. Many thanks Pat. I only finished one in the last year, so your in good company. Thanks also for the link. The Sea Fury looks like being another winner for Airfix. It's really good to see them coming back in such force over the last couple of years. Joe I'm so sorry Martian, I need to make sure I read the text before I hit the send button. Joe.
  6. Good lord, I never noticed that! Thanks for letting me know so I can apologise to Martian. Martian, if your reading this, please accept my sincere apologies. Joe. Hello Pat, thank you. Yes, I intend to post a full WIP. But I'm a bit slow at times. It is a lovely model. The only extras apart from the decal change will be added harnesses.
  7. That's very nice Ced. Looks like it will be another one in the hanger soon (or should that be water).
  8. Hello Ced, yeah, the rigging points will give me something to aim at when I trying to rig it. Thank you Jaime, I managed to get a little bit done today. Hi Marian, glad you like it. I'm looking forward to the Sea Fury.
  9. Hello Z, I'll keep an eye open and see what scheme you go for. The link you posted about the Australian Walrus is very helpful, thanks for that. Joe.
  10. I've glued the three sections of the top wing individually. The main wing spar for the extended wings. Upper and lower wing parts showing the rigging points on the lower wing, and fuel caps on the upper wing. I think I will drill a small hole in the rigging point position for when I apply the EZ Line. Hopefully, after I've cleaned up the three sections of the top wing tomorrow, I will have time to glue them together before I make a start on the lower wing sections. Thanks for looking, Joe.
  11. Thank you Martian, I don't think you will be disappointed. Thank you Johnny, there's a lot to squeeze into the fuselage.
  12. Thank you Ced. It has some really nice detail.
  13. Hello Ced, or or should I say "Broad Sword calling Danny Boy, Broad Sword calling Danny Boy." Tante Ju is coming on great. Nice to see the grand old lady put together so well. I hope you have a long and happy retirement. Great work on the man cave. Joe.
  14. Thank you Robert. I don't have time for painting at the moment, but do have time for some gluing some more parts together. Building out of sequence, I'm going to assemble the top wing next. I'm going to build my Walrus with the wings extended. The plans above show which parts have to be trimmed to accommodate the main spar. I intend to assemble the above parts tomorrow (Tuesday), and clean up the seams the next day all being well. Thanks for looking, Joe.
  15. Hello Johnny, I also leave my transparencies off until the end of the build if I can, and find I don't have a problem with blemishes. I think it's a build up of static which attracts the dust that has accumulated inside the model during construction. I handle Perspex everyday at work, and just the act of handling it attracts dust. I think Nigel's idea might help in cases where you can't wait until the end of the build to add the transparent parts.
  16. Thank you Jaime. I think so, but I'll keep the Argentinian scheme in mind as I do like it.
  17. What a great track. Released 50 years ago! I've glued some parts together, and just held other parts with tape. I intend to glue a few more parts together before I start painting the interior as I'm waiting for some harnesses from Eduard. Thanks for looking, Joe.
  18. Hello Johnny, great progress. You've put me to shame. I've got one on the back burner, and just started another as you so kindly noticed. The interior looks very good with some rather nice highlights. I love your 🐶. Hope you don't mind me putting a photo of my best mate Max on your WIP. He's short, fat and eats whatever is put in front of him. They say dogs get like their owners.
  19. Hello Johnny, thank you. Your more than welcome. It's a lovely model, I just need to get my finger out and finish it. That's why I'll probably go for the yellow scheme. I'm thinking about painting the fuselage in four sections, then glue it together. It will depend on the fit, but that way, I can put the transparencies in after painting. Also, a lot less masking when it comes to the cockpit. It's just a thought while sitting here looking at the instructions. But with no centre line seam to clean up, I think it can be done. The wings will be painted with the decals on for sure before they go on the fuselage/ hull. I normally build my models in sub assemblies, then stick them together. It's a lazy way of doing it ,but it works for me. I'm off now to give your Catalina a coat of looking at. Joe.
  20. Absolutely superb finish. I can see the clouds reflecting in the paint on the fuel tank.
  21. That's a shame Ced, but I understand. If your running short of you know what, PM me 😉 Your welcome Jaime, sorry they are not up to much. The more I look at this kit, the more I like it. That's a great couple of links zebra, thanks a lot. Your welcome Pat, and thank you. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I'm looking forward to the Fury 😛 Glad you like them Bigdave. I intend to just do a dry run with the first assembly phase tomorrow. Hopefully if I get it done, I'll post a photo. Thanks again gentlemen, regards Joe . Some Eduard sets below if you wish to see them. http://www.hyperscale.com/2017/reviews/accessories/eduard48929reviewlp_1.htm
  22. Thank you Ced. Are you going on the 7th to the Bovington Show. Thanks Pat. Thank you Jaime. Here are the sprue photos of the Walrus. I've put a few of the instructions as well. Sorry about the quality of some of the photos. Joe
