  5. Hi all last post before completed posted to gallery. Just scratch built flak 38 quad, based upon 1/72 italeri example, see pics. sorry if a bit out of focus as you can see its quite small. All the best Chris
  6. Hi all to add to the conjecture, being a draughtsman myself, but no aircraft expert, the bomb bay is clearly below the wing spar, aerofoil profile confirms this in pic. So what ever aircraft it is has a wing in the top of the fuselage with the body hanging below. Had a quick look, possible candidates, most likely 1) Heinkel He 177, 2) Short stirling, 3) Dornier 17, 4) B-26, assuming its ww2. regards chris ps hope it helps chaps
  7. Hi all skates on, 3 things left to do. Induction pipe to schnorkel connection. watermarks and scratchbuilt flak 38 quad. Heres some progress pics. All the best Chris
  8. Thanks Arniec, you've been a great host, skates on. All the best chris

  10. Hi really interested in this one, look forward to its release. Keep up the good work, filling the huge gaps in submarines @ 1/350. All the best Chris
  11. HI jimbob, not a bad build, one tip with weathering U-boats, no rust below the water line, as it requires air as an oxidiser, only see rust below when dry docked for a long period so im told. Like any modelling theme you learn as you go, keep up the good work. All the best Chris
  12. Hi all, update on build, 13 days to go, skates on LOL. conning tower 90% complete all thats left is railings, induction pipe and scratch built flak 38 quad. Hull 99% rigging left. Then final finish and water marks. Heres some pics, have tried my best to recreate built area of hull based on pic in reference link with mesh to rear of conning tower. All the best Chris
  13. Great job, smoke me a kipper ill be back for breakfast all the best Chris
  14. just seen ebay offering of mikromir typhoon at £27.00 odd plus postage, waiting to see price tag on hobbyboss typhoon. Chris
  15. You should check previous posts, there been a lot of talk about it as mikromir are releasing one as well, until now apart from the alanger typhoon (which was fairly accurate) in 1/350 the dragon was the only other one albeit a flight of fancy as where the revel 1/400 kits. regards Chris
  16. Hi all Hobbyboss has just released its typhoon, no uk price yet but weighing in at $60 USD elsewhere, which currently equates to about £36.00. regards Chris
  17. Hi, nice job, if your looking for reference material look no further than the Fordbidden Planet 50th anniversary edition on dvd, loads of documentaries even one dedicated to Robby and the guy who rescued him and now makes a living producing full size reproductions. All the best Chris
  18. Hi Ken love your halibut, she was re designated ssn in 1965 after a major overhaul and refit to a special ops submarine, you can read up on Wikipedia amongst over sources, she tapped soviet phone lines and surveyed the k219 before the glomar explorer tried to raise her, kitted out with saturation diving equipment.
  19. Hi Ken got my whiskey off ebay, the cheapest is a dual listing one for bids and one for buy it now, seller is linsall77, sends them directly from source paid £12.77 plus postage on the buy it now. This is where I pick up my mikromir from as they are released. If theres anything your looking for in particular let me know, ill see what I can do to point you in the right direction. All the best Chris
  20. Hi the longest SSN was USS Triton @ 447ft with the exception of the stretched Seawolf class USS Jimmy Carter @ 453ft. Just got the mikromir whiskey thru, nice job keeping up the standard of their releases. Keep fingers crossed they will fill the gaps, SSN 575 Seawolf would be nice, Triton, Halibut, Tullibee and the Glenard P Lipscomb would finish the roll call of US SSN,s in 1/350. Chris
