  1. Brad you are right the Glen had the wings & floats removed, leaving just the fuselage. Wings and floats stored either side of the fuselage. All the best Chris
  2. Jon the bulge infront of the conning tower is a watertight hanger, the plane folds up and is stored inside. One of these boats was responsible for the unsuccessful bombing of America, firebombed forest and it rained. All the best Chris
  3. Absolutely stunning build, love it, the lighting is just out of this world. hope to see the finished model at Telford. All the best Chris
  4. Cracking job Kallisti, well done. Just seen the pre order for the 1/72 version, umm arghh. Look forward to seeing your Aries 1B, build. Ive aquired the smaller stargazer one, crikey i didnt realize how small, til it turned up LOL All the best Chris
  5. Hi Keith, sadly not seen one yet. One may pop up 3d printed but no news on kit front. This is an area of submarine modelling that is lacking models. All the best Chris
  6. yes they were lowered before diving, as well as the crane, there are recesses for them in the deck. Cracking job Brad, this is how she looked pre ww2, after pearl harbour they were painted black upper hull and had white landing stripes added across the front and rear deck. All the best Chris
  7. Cracking job Josep, love the finish, have one in the stash, id be pleased if it turned out half as good as yours. All the best Chris
  8. Hi Rob, mines ordered and winging its way from Mike. Its a great kit to go alongside Starling's T class. With regards to PB10, im using this colour for my HMS Upholder build and have secured an acrylic version by Hataka, after much looking this is the only one i found. Hence switching from enamels to acylics for this build. As Jamie says colours for RN submarines are a minefield and good references are hard to find. All the best Chris
  9. What a find, will follow with great interest. This is on my wish list for submersibles. I have the Fujimi rerelease in the stash, with a few mods it will build up as the original Alvin configuration from 1964. It may help to contact Woods Hole for Jason details, they have a facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WoodsHoleOcean Alvin has just been certified to 6500m following a major refit and is still very much in use. All the best Chris
  10. My orders in, another great model by Mike @ Starling. All the best Chris
  11. Yes it was normal practice to retract all antenna, periscopes etc when not in use. The schnorkel would be raised before submerging and retracted when surfaced, also weapons would be stowed in watertight cannisters or sealed with a plug. All the best Chris
  12. It looks good Igkor, only criticism would be that they are too high in the water, the line between the dark and light grey at front and rear is approximately the waterline. Also the second u-boat is a VIID not a type IIB (which was a coastal boat not an ocean going U-boat). All the best Chris
  13. Now your asking, A Royal Navy T class in 1/144 & 1/72 along with an S class, Amphion class & U class with their associated mods (similar to USN Guppy's). Also any of the missing RN boats in 1/350, a long list from A class 1902 to Upholder class 1993
  14. Nicely done, love the addition of the fish and sand. All the best Chris
  15. Absolutely cracking job Carts, well done. All the best Chris
  16. Some cracking builds there Chris, loved the interesting stufff, not the run of the mill aircraft, well done. All the best Chris
  17. Many thanks Bigbadbadge, much appreciated. Many thanks Corsaircorp, the thunderbird kits are by Bandai and a joy to build, plus they dont take up much shelf space. Many thanks Bertie Psmith, glad you like the bust, he was 31 when lost at sea, Tin Tin for now LOL All the very best Chris
  18. So 2021 a few modelling set backs and a hectic year. Heres my lower than usual offering for 2021 builds. 1) 1/350 Thunderbird 1 from that nameless movie. 2) Klingon Vor' cha cruiser with DS9 livery, lot more exciting than the plain Next Gen livery. 3) Some 1/700 USN Nuclear submarines, 1 SSN & 2 SSBN's 4) The Batmobile from Batman & Robin, experiment in gloss black and polishing, mixed feelings about the end result. 5) SR-71 egg plane with replacement decals from a BSG Viper, piloted by Lt. Starbuck LOL 6) A joy to build E-2 Hawkeye resin egg plane. 7) A build in two halves, the bust completed, submarine to follow for my HMS Upholder build. Happy modelling to all, all the best Chris.
