  4. They are reasonably priced, just ordered all three on ebay for £42. The ornithopters are 173mm span by 90mm long approximately and the harvester is 100mm long x 65mm wide x 27mm high. Expected delivery 6th dec- 6th jan. Nice size for dioramas, possibly. all the best Chris
  5. Opus you are right the seams are flush, heres a link to useful star trek database and the filming model https://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/christies/warbird-christies1.jpg When i built the Warbird i used a tube and a half of filler, but well worth it in the end. All the best Chris
  6. Cracking job Mike, beautifully done, i presume with the RCSubs PE as well. All the best Chris
  7. PLAN Wuhan project 33G, 1/144 bit of a beast, the flood holes just had to be opened out, or did they LOL. Still going, one hull half done, half the other, mid casing started on one side other to do. Opened and glazed with kristal clear wheelhouse in the sail. Missile tubes done, building OOB with the exception of flood holes etc. All the best Chris

  11. Something different that caught my eye, beautiful kit went together very well, no filler required. Hairystick painted in enamels. From a 1980's Japanese Anime called Crusher Joe. The villains always have the cooler looking ships, i think. All the best Chris
  12. Hi Pappy, ive finished mine now and given it a satin cote, it looks fine, would look great next to a Shinkai. All the best Chris
  13. Well there lies a question, initially im going to put it on an acrylic rod with a small base and sit it on a mirror, for the upcoming Hailsham show. But i want something more fitting to display it, so will be racking my brains for ideas. Any suggestions welcome as always. As for the time spent, ive been snatching modelling time throughout the days. when cooking and also late at night aiming for this tuesdays club night. All the best Chris
  14. More progress; The sample bed is an open mesh, not solid as in kit, so enough scope to open out the larger areas. Arms added and painted, view ports filled with Kristal Clear, skids painted and fixed in place. You can see the opened out sample tray and the main view port infill Hull halves joined, lighting/camera rig, tail fin, rear thrusters, safety cage and top rails added. This just leaves some touch up paint to white skid panels, silver hull lugs and addition of decals to finish. All the best Chris
  15. So having posted in ship purchases heres my build so far of the prepainted snap kit, taken to another level with some simple mods. First up add paint to the thruster tunnels and thrusters - silver for thrusters and red for tunnels. Then to drill out holes in observation portholes, ready for Kristal Clear infills to represent acrylic lenses, also more tunnel and thruster painting. Some parts painted black and steel and added to the upper hull, being the lifting frame and locaters along with the front towing eye. and finally the detail painting of the front lighting and instrument rig, with dark grey, matt black, yellow and silver. All the best Chris
  16. These two have just landed from a UK seller, Chinese Research submersibles in 1/72. They are prepainted snap kits with over 30+ parts apiece, superbly cast and detailed. They come with both stickers and decals, but with a little additional detail painting and mods will become really nice models. I couldnt resist ive made a start on the 4500m Shen Hai Yong Shi, drilled out the holes for the view ports and awaiting my delivery of kristal klear to add acrylic lenses to model for realism. All the best Chris
  17. A while back took a grandaughter to see grease on stage at a local theatre. It came to the musical number hand jive. In a raised voice she said im learning this at school its called the "hand job", needless to say the people around us started laughing.
