  1. Back in the 1980s and as part of its modernisation efforts, the Republic of Singapore Air Force chose the General Dynamics F-16 to replace its fleet of aging Hawker Hunters. Under the Peace Carvin I FMS program, the United States sold a total of 8 F-16s (4 As and 4 Bs) to the RSAF. These aircraft were received by the RSAF and were initially based at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona where the Air Force sent a detachment of pilots and ground crew to train under the USAF. On 9 January 1990, these 8 Vipers arrived in Singapore and were inducted into 140 Squadron "Osprey". This is the Hasegawa F-16A kit built with HobbyDecal turned metal pitot and AoA probes. Decals came from Siam Scale but were not too good so I had to use some of the decals from the kit. The scheme here represents one of the jets as the arrived in Singapore with the old-style "yin-yang" roundel. This was quickly replaced with the modern "lion-head" roundel. This was built as part of BM's Viper GB. Build thread can be found here: Mark

  3. After decal application was completed came the panel wash Also painted up this fella Mark
  4. Got the detail painting done today. Also painted up the wheels. With the paint job done and dusted, decal application has commenced. I am using decals from Siam Scale as well as some from the kit. Mark
  5. Adding to the F-15 hype here. Shot these F-15SGs yesterday. Mark
  6. Standard Hill Grey camo has been applied. I used Mr Color lacquers. Next up is the masking and spraying of the various bits and bobs on the fuselage like the air-refueling door and JFS starter panel. About those missiles, they are simply pinned on and can be removed for painting. Mark
  7. Actually, there is a way to leave the landing gear off to the last part of the build. You'll simply have to cut the keel piece of the landing gear bay like this and slot it in right at the end. Mark
  8. Thanks everyone! A bit of progress on this build. Weathered the interior of the exhaust nozzle All ready for the paint barn Mark
  9. This is good stuff! I noticed that you painted the LITENING pod pylon in the same colour as the pod itself. I believe it should actually be in light ghost grey i.e. the underside colour instead. https://www.airliners.net/photo/Israel-Air-Force/Lockheed-Martin-F-16I-Sufa/1762474 Mark
  10. Apologies for the lack of updates. I have made some progress. Masked the canopy parts Airbrushed the exhaust nozzle Installed the cockpit into the fuselage Looking like a Viper now. Fin is dry-fitted Mark
  11. Thanks @trickyrich! Let's get started shall we? Sprayed the cockpit parts and hand-painted the console and instrument panel details. Mark

  14. I will be entering a Republic of Singapore Air Force F-16A for this group build. I'll be using the Hasegawa F-16A kit as a base and adding decals from Siam Scale as well as a metal pitot probe and AoA sensors by Hobby Decal. Some background on this Viper: Back in the mid-1980s, the RSAF purchased a total of 8 F-16s (4 As and 4 Bs) under the Peace Carvin FMS programme. These jets were initially based at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona for pilot training and were subsequently transferred back to Singapore in January 1990. Once the RSAF received their F-16Cs and Ds in the early 2000s, these older jets were donated to the Royal Thai Air Force. Source: RSAF Facebook Mark
  15. Looking good so far! Not sure if you wanna change this but the 4 blade antenna on the front nose are not correct for RSAF block 52s. You’ll need to use the antennae which sit on a raised base (part YF22) instead. Here’s my rendition of this colourful jet using the Tamiya kit. Hope it serves as good motivation! Keep it up! Mark
  16. I'd be down for this! Have a couple Tiger IIs in the stash. Mark
  17.
