  1. Suspected that the exhaust fairings were smaller, but I didn’t know about air brakes. Mine are somewhere over the Atlantic, trailing my S.1 intakes and heading for the second.Airfix S.2 that I laid in for just this eventuality.
  2. It appears that BAT Project is a company whose business consists of announcing projects —— and nothing more. Can anyone remember anything they have actually released. I can’t. More’s the pity because some of those announcements have been very tasty indeed, ie, the instant DH-86.
  3. I use their own Mr Color thinner, both to thin and clean up. They also make a Mr Levelling Thinner but I haven’t found that to be necessary. The basic paint/thinner combination levels very nicely for me.
  4. No it doesn’t cologne at all. It also cleans up very easily, whrher in my airbrush or on a brush.
  5. Modelmaster were also my “go to” paints for nearly a lifetime. Modelmaster II line was discontinued, April 1, a year ago. I guess original Modelmaster is gone now also. Strangely, MM and MM II were not the same paint. MM II was much more finely ground and i could cut a very fine line with my Pasche VL airbrush. No matter what I did I could not match it with regular MM. It was (and is) splatter city all the time, just can’t cut a fine line with it, but at least it never clogged my airbrush spray tip like every water based acrylic I ever tried did. Been experimenting with acrylic lacquers since Rustoleum’s first stab in the back. The best replacement for MM II seems to be Gunze Mr Color. Cuts a very fine line and levels beautifully, so much so that I have had success useing as an after the fact filler on fine cracks. Seems to dissolve the layer below and level out, even if the underlying coat has been dry for some time. Gunze has a pretty evtensve palette, covering RAF, USAAF/USAF/USN, Luftwaffe, and, of course, JASDF/JMSDF. Mr Paint is a close second for me with AK trailing some (clogs my airbrush tip). One thing for sure, i’ll never buy another can of Rustoleum for any purpose, ever.
  6. And parts breakdown seems to allow for a later twin engine version
  7. Love the Navy scheme. That a/c is currently parked about 2 miles from my home. About 80 feet fron Pennsylvania Route 611, in a small roadside museum on the grounds of the former Willow Grove Naval Air Station. There is a Cutlass and a Sea Dart there as well. Currently building the machine in 1/72 using the Amodel kit and Print Scale decals.
  8. Pre-ordered from HLJ and got mine a couple of weeks ago. In the box it’s one of the best and most detailed 1/144 kits I have ever seen. Wish Aoshima would do the new P-1. Running out of availability seems to be a feature of HLJ. Only source I know that cuts off pre-orders for a lack of stock. Best to preorder early to avoid disappointment. There must be practical limits to how much of each item they can stock. Their range of products is enormous.
  9. I believe that many of the old Classic Airframes kits were by Sword. Could be one of them but CA always included a significant resin content. All the details seem to be on the sprues for this one. My money is an updated CA product, not at all a bad thing. My Meteor world is complete with the Special Hobby kits but this is good news for those with big fingers.
  10. I am at a bit of a loss as to which new kit this discussion is about. Is it possible that we are getting a 1/72 Scale kit of Brexit? If not, then i’m Not sure what it is doing in a Rumormonger Nurnberg thread. Sorry, but I keep clicking on Nurnberg 2020 hoping to find news of a previously unknown new kit.
  11. Does that tail look a little off, too tall and too narrow at the top?
  12. Another really tempting and needed offering. To bad I can’t purchase and build a render. These guy’ are either deeply capitalized or determined to frustrate us. Hope it is the former.
  13. Terrific news, now, if only their release schedule can begin to match their announcement schedule. Have their 1/72 Sonia and it’s a really good kit. Skipped the Claude because I have Fujimi’s which is way more than satisfactory. Nothing else to buy, yet.
  14. The link works but the Lone Star shop is not open. Maybe February according to the website which contains just that message.
  15. I would speculate that there is a very good chance we’ll se a whole series of Centurions once we see one. That is Dragons track record with every kit they release. The big question is when we will see one.
  16. Available now for preorder at hobbyeasy.com in Hong Kong. I order from them all the time. Very good prices and very quick shipping (to USA anyway). Stated release date is February 15. Hobbyeasy’s release date estimates are usually quite accurate and updated regularly if anything changes. The two listed for that date are a bog standard MT-LB and a MT-LB 6MB.
  17. Do you suppose that rather large collection of 1/72 targets has any connection to Modelcollect? Some duplication but many unique items. I suppose “competeter” is a word that doesn’t have much meaning in Communist China but do we think Hobby Boss and Modelcollect are related enterprises or competitors, IAW are molds being shared here. In any event, I am holding my breath for the DANA.
  18. I’m saving my Matchbox canopies and the rear fairing on the Matchbox fuselage. Ought to be able to work something for the mandatory (for me) open canopy look.
  19. Very well indeed. I always open my canopies so fit is a little less critical. It remains critical for the front windscreen and that is a drop fit. Bill
  20. The Viscount has been released and is very nice indeed. Only a 700 now but an 800 is in prospect.
  21. Thanks, answered my questions about a questionable decision.
  22. Is it really true that new release has on landing gear. Sprue shots seem to show gear wells but no gear. Just cancelled my “watching” at the big H until I can be sure. Maybe a later version that includes gear?
