  1. I'm here! I built one of these last year. The Brengun cockpit set is excellent IMHO. Surprised that you can no longer get one in the UK. This was mine........ Great that you are building the one you fly Adam! Definitely watching this build. Terry
  2. Always my pleasure. Actually, if you go into my Flickr account and have a scout round (did you see what I did there?), there is much to be seen amongst close to 12,000 pictures of stuff! The trail you are blazing on that diminutive Scout is heroic, and indeed rather splendid. On a slightly different note, whilst briefly perusing the traders at Wallop on my flying visit, I spied this......... Imagine my shock when I asked what price this might be ................ as the trader suggested hopefully ........ £5?, I almost fell over, and of course immediately handed over said £5, although I swear he expected me to make an offer below that! Incidentally, the same trader also had an Esci 1/72 RF-4 Phantom for £4, so I came away a very happy lad with change from a tenner! T
  3. So, for completeness Bill, here are all the Scout pictures I took on my brief visit to Middle Wallop on Sunday. The old girl was in a poor state in the public car park, but you never know, one or two snaps might help solve some riddles. Just double click on the pic below, and you will be in the small Flickr album. Terry
  4. I did actually take more of the engine area, which I'm happy to post but you seem largely done there and it was all a bit rusty/cobweb like, but still shows detail. Modellers sixth sense ............. 🤫
  5. Of course, there is a static tail rotor "lock" device confusing the picture. The grey coloured rusty bits! T.
  6. Coming along nicely Bill. I've had to do a lot of 'toing and froing' this weekend on family matters etc, and on Sunday I happened to pass Middle Wallop, where there happened to be a model show in progress. T'was as if my big sister was looking after me............... a great place to stop for a short look round! I came upon this sad old thing, and took lots of pics, thinking about this build. These are shots just of the tail, might help..... HTH T.
  7. Your choices on paint look spot on to my eyes, and I'm very impressed with the decision to mask and airbrush the orange and white tail markings. Sometimes decals don't do the job. The overall finish on this one is looking superb. I've long been a fan of US Navy/Marines light gull grey and white schemes, since my teenage years when the schemes prevailed (that's how old I am!). I recall first seeing the scheme for real at the SBAC Farnborough show when the A-7E of VA-195 from USS Kitty Hawk appeared. The rationale for a US Navy aircraft appearing at this show at the time was that the new Allison TF-41 power plant was in fact a licence built Rolls Royce Spey I believe. A few years later I was treated to an overdose of gull grey and white aircraft at a Greenham Common show (F-14 Tomcat, A-6 Intruder, S-3 Viking, and EA-3 Skywarrior). Even a RAN Skyhawk. What a treat! Sadly I've never seen an A-1 (nor an F-4) in this scheme for real. This is going to be a great tribute to the A-1. Terry
  8. She getting there Martin. This build has got me thinking about the JD-1D drone controller aircraft. Another one for the list! Interesting addition to all your racing jobbies Stuart! Terry
  9. No Mustang updates at the moment as some sadness has befallen the family. My older sister Carol (the "middle" sister of three, plus a brother, all older than me) passed away peacefully last friday after a long struggle with Dementia. She was 84. Although we had all expected her departure for a while, it has still come as somewhat of a shock and a challenge to deal with. I only mention it here, as the last time I visited her was on the return from our Norfolk venture. The care home is about midway on the journey. I'm so glad I took the time out to spend an afternoon with her during that very enjoyable trip, and I can associate seeing her with the fantastic time Karen and I had in Norfolk, including the great social event with the BM gang @perdu, @The Spadgent, @giemme, @Fritag and @CedB during that visit. I'm a great believer in moving on with life, so onwards I shall plod, and I think it's fitting that this build will now also be dedicated to my big sister, who was one of a number of older siblings that got me into this hobby by buying me Airfix kits for birthdays and christmas, so many times. 🥲 T
  10. Echo that Cookie. She looks very neat and tidy and faithful to that picture. Terry
  11. Some meticulous detail happening in that cockpit Giorgio. Love it. I took a sneek peek over in the figures world too. Nice Viking. Terry
  12. Great to see you back onto another figure Giorgio and a Viking figure no less. Mrs T will be impressed ............ she is half Norwegian! I'm sticking around here to get some pointers for my own figure painting which I started a few weeks back. T
  13. Nice paint jobs so far and very neat detailing Ian. I'm not really green with envy ........ not at all ............ not in the slightest .....😭😭 Enjoy!!! T.
  14. A real novice question here, but presumably, you could also use the method Alan @hendie illustrates above, for making a wing, or any similar shape? Thanks Terry
  15. Another inspiring update Steve. The more I see of that Arma Hobby Hurricane, the more I fancy one ........ but with the size of my stash, I think I'll hold off a bit 🤔 A prize pot I imagine? Anything interesting in the box? Very nice work on the internal cockpit framing, albeit "just" a proof of concept, and some very neat looking replacement exhausts. I remember that gerald Scarborough book well. I bought a copy when I was given a 1/24 Hurricane as a leaving present from the MOD, back in the 70's. Happy nostalgic days........ T.
  16. As Bill says, more outstanding work, especially so given the latest set of challenges you have discovered, and meticulously overcome in your familiar but hugely admired approach to resolving such issues. The inspiring and superbly entertaining viewing continues from down here in deepest southern Dorset. Whilst on the subject of southern Dorset I thought I'd mention a recent visit to good old (and familiar to you I seem to recall) "Books Afloat" in Weymouth, where I acquired a couple more prizes for my bookshelves, now straining under the weight of quite a few additions from that superb shop. His stock seems to be growing every time I visit, so you should put it on your visit list when you next pass this way! Terry
  17. The metal effect looks really good Cookie. One question though - after you worked the paste over the VMC metallics, did you seal it with anything before masking for the invasion stripes? Terry
  18. Catching up on this one Matt, I'd missed the "Carry on film" comments re a ressurection 🤭. Nearly fell off my chair laughing! Undercarriage is looking the biz, and good to see the long task of masking being tackled. Always a pain to do but usually well worth it at the end. She'll look fab when she's wearing something on top ..... 😉
  19. I didn't do a separate build log for the TX3, and it's not included in the multi build thread unfortunately. Here is the Flickr album for it however. If you click on the picture, it should take you to the whole album.... I made that from the Phoenix Vac Form kit some years ago. Not a bad kit, with a bit of effort. Most of the main parts came from the kit, but struts were added from a brass product called Strutz (aerodynamic profile brass rod) and the cockpit was scratch built. Likewise, this Flickr album has many construction pictures of all the glider builds so far........... https://www.flickr.com/photos/tjh_photo_world/albums/72157719407442907/page1 If you need the link to the full Britmodeller glider thread, it's here: The book that @Dave Swindell refers to is indeed excellent, and that definitely has plans for a Prefect. HTH Terry PS I should have said it's encouraging to have another Glider builder on Britmodeller. @Adam Poultney is another!
  20. I have indeed! I suspect that was in my multiple build thread, and yes I do want to build a Prefect, but decided a conversion was too challenging at the time. You are clearly proving me wrong, and what a fantastic start you have made. I like the mods to the wings especially. I did get as far as loading some plans into Fusion and managed to introduce some fuselage cross sections, but also realised that the wing was quite different. Having spent much time some time prior to that rebuilding a Sedbergh wing from scratch, my appetite for such things wasn't quite there! This is as far as I got ...............! You may also be interested in my latest builds in the ongoing Glider thread, a T53 and a Kirby Kite. Chris @stringbag incidentally was a great help on the Sedbergh! Will definitely follow this one for sure! Terry
  21. Wow, that is one very well presented model of the iconic Lighting. I think perhaps one of the best models I've ever seen of the old girl, in any scale. You have put so much effort into the build, and the riveting is excellent, finished off by a superb NM finish and weathering. Absolute top marks from me. Terry.
  22. Flights are one thing, but don't forget, hotels are filling fast, especially those close to the TIC! I've already booked mine! T.
