  1. Hello, its been a while, but I managed to do alot of work. I tried something inbetween finnish camo and on a much smaller basis an urban camo. A few mistakes with the masking, but I think they are small and can be fixed with weathering. Comments welcome, cheers, Jaka
  2. Another amazing tank! I am impressed how fast you build them. Did you paint the tracks and if so, what colour? Cheers, Jaka
  3. The kit is now primed and it will be painted in Finnish colours (so I can use masking tape and don't have to do it free hand) I think the weld line looks good. The main issue remains the cannon where the seam line is visible. I will put a camo netting on to hide it. Do you guys paint the tracks and if so, in what colour? Cheers, Jaka.
  4. Thank you for the answer. It is the post on 18th of April in my WIP thread: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234979652-135-revell-leopard-2a6-help-needed/ Jaka
  5. A quick update. I started working on the turret. It's an excellent fit, which came together nicely and without any major issues. Cheers, Jaka
  6. Igor, thank you for your reply. May I also ask how did you get a clean cut on the soft plastic part for the rear end of the vehicle (sorry I don't know how that's called even in my own language). Those white/grey lines add super realism and I wonder what did you use for that. Thank you, Jaka
  7. It looks amazing. The weathering is spot on. As I'm also working on a Leopard, I have a few questions about how you made this kit. I'd be very happy if you could tell me how did you paint the camo. Did you use masking tape or free hand, because the borderline effect looks great (subtle, but yet not as if it was done free hand) and I want to do the same. Further how did you paint the spades and other small parts and with what paint. My paint always seems to thick. Thank you, Jaka.
  8. A quick update. I skipped the stages with the small parts as they will be added at the end. So far no real problems. The upper plate was a nice fit: I did the weld lines with tamiya putty as shown on a picture above. Da cannon barrel came together nicely but the joints are visible on one side so I had to correct it: Comments are welcome. Cheers, Jaka
  9. I made the weld line with tamiya putty. I think it works well and I only need to sand it off on the edges. Have a nice weekend guys!
  10. Your work with PE parts looks fantastic. Can't wait to see more. Cheers, Jaka
  11. Hey guys, today I did the stages 14 and 15. No issues there, only the small parts need alot of sanding as the sink marks are visible everywhere. I did a test on the weld lines with tamiya putty. I think it works well and I will dot it for real in the front glacis plate. Does anyone know where to buy camo netting like this: http://www.missing-lynx.com/gallery/modern/images/leopard2a6hl_4.jpg Cheers, Jaka
  12. http://tanknutdave.com/the-german-leopard-2-series/ For possible variations of camo. I haven't been around much, so I didn't work on the kit as much as I would have wanted. I'm hoping I'll be able to post progress in next few days. And remember, the primer is much like a mother-in-law. It only exposes your mistakes and does absolutely nothing to repair them Cheers, Jaka
  13. The camo really looks interesting, however I don't know what kind of camo netting would go with it. Thank you for your relpy, Jaka
  14. Hello fellow modelers. I would need some help with camo netting for the Revell's Leopard 2a6 that I am currently buildnig. I don't find any on eBay, so I'd appreciate any help. If possible more greyish camo. Further, I dont want my model to be painted in standard green, brown black, but with only one or maybe 2 types of dark grey (RLM 76). The problem is that there don't seen to be any Leopards in other colour that standard or desert. What do you think about the Leopard being grey? Thanks for help and suggestions. Jaka
  15. I've been looking for some camo netting online, but I don't seem to find any other that Eduards PE in wrong colours. Can anyone recomend me a good camo netting and can I paint it? Jaka
  16. Hello guys, I haven't been around much lately as I'm studying. However I was able to do some work. First off are two parts from soft plastic. I don't know how to properly sand them as sand paper is too rought and the plastic is too flexible. PDH, what was your experience with this parts? The hull came together nicely and there were no problems installing parts on this stage (3,4,5,6,7 and 8 in the manual). The parts needed a little sanding but that's it. The top part came on pretty good, unfortuately I had a mishap when cutting it from the sprue, as shown below. The line seen from Andy's picture is nicely visible and it seems accurate. The fit of the details on stage 12 is a bit poor and the joints dont touch the hull, but this isn't really visible, so i didn't feel the need to repair it. On the left side I had a mishap with the glue, which badly damaged the lines. However I think I managed to repair it properly. Thank you for your help. Jaka
  17. PDH, I skipped a few steps to see how the upper part will fit with the parts E 43 and 47. In general I'll try to bouild it first and only then add the smaller parts.
  18. Thank you for your comments. I was looking for the nets online, however i cant find the right colour (light grey), as i plan to do it unicolour. PDH, I have fixed the problem. Really happy at the moment. It fits perfectly if you remove the small part in the red circle. Solution in the pics below. As seen in Andy's picture, the gap must be slighty visible and it is. Andy, thank you. Your picture answers alot of my other questions. Not the best picture, but it fixes the problem:
  19. Hello fellow modelers! After building only airplane kits, mostly ww2, I have decided to try something new and bought myself the Revell's Leopard 2, as it recieved good reviews. Especially regarding the fit, which is my weakest link in building. After the start I noticed that two front parts don't really fit, picture below. Does anyone have some experience with this kit and can tell me how to make this part fit, as the hole is quite visible: Further, should I fill the front joint and sand it, or let it be. This part comes together quite nicely, however I can't find any refference: Thank you for your help, Jaka.
  20. Amazing bould. Looks like the real deal Slovenc predvidevam? Cheers, Jaka
  21. Top bould. I am amazed by the weathering. May I ask how you did the chipping and staining? Jaka
  22. Hello fellow modellers! Since I was a kid the Dora has been my favourite aircraft of all times. I came back to modelling two years ago after more than 10 years. All the models I've built since then were preparation for this one. In my opinion this may be my best bouild. Took me around 50 hours as I wanted to make the camo resebmble the famous Pappaistafel Dora, but in grey colour. The kit was a pleasure and a delight to bould. It's OBB, beacuse I accidentaly destroyed the Eduard's PE parts for cockpit. As said the parts came toghether very nicely. I only needed to use a small amount of filler here and there. The cockpit detail is good, a bit inaccurate though. The detail on the plane is very nice, especially for a hobby bouilder like me. The decals were however a disaster. They were to think and didn't come off easily. Other than that a great kit from Hasegawa. All comments welcome. Please note that the crosshair is missing, I'll do it in the next days. I'll also post the belly pictures later. Cheers, Jaka!
  23. Hello fellow modellers. After four months I finally finished the 27 year old Hasegawa F-5E. About the kit. It does show it age with raised panel lines and detail. It come together quite nicely, so not much filler is needed. As for the raised panel lines go, I scribed the whole plane. I left some of the raised detail out, as my it exceeds my skill by far. I used enormous amount of filler for the panel lines and the many mistakes I had to repair. Therefore I named the plane Dolly Parton, for the many plastic surgeries it underwent. Overall I am quite satisfied with the result. It has many mistakes, it's old, but it still looks like a F-5E. I'm satisfied with the result considering the age and quality of the kit. However I hope a need kit will be available sometime in the future, to provide us with all the detail 1/48 versions offer. Base paint was tamiya primer. The plane was pre shaded. The whole plane is painted in Vallejo light grey in various shades. After the gloss coat it was sprayed with thick matt coat to give it a bit of a greyish sea look. Finishing was done with some revell emails and oil paints. Air lines were sprayed with a 1:15 RLM 82. In real life they aren't as visible as on the pics. If you have or know of any Dolly Parton decals let me know. Comments are welcome. Cheers, Jaka
  24. The model will be finished in a few days. The air lines are way more subtle in real life. Cheers, Jaka.
  25. The paining is now complete. I have to repair the nose mistake. Here are 3 pics. Cheers, Jaka
