About Me

Have returned to the hobby after a 20+ year break (the usual excuses...beer, woman, travel, career etc in that order) which seems to be a common theme in the introductions forum...great to see, the hobby is certainly not dying in the face of gaming and technology. Will be making my first serious attempt at air-brushing and photo-etch, also some new weathering techniques that have arisen or evolved over the duration of my break from the hobby.

I'm building at a very slow rate, probably not more than a handful a year. Current 1/48 stash is growing faster than I can build them, the shelf currently has...

Airfix Spitfire PR XIX (x2)

Special Hobby Spitfire Vc

Eduard P-39 Airacobra

Revell Seafire XV

Kinetic F/A-18 Hornet

Italeri F7F Tigercat

Revell Spitfire XVI low-back

Italeri HH-60 Jayhawk

Spitfires were mostly a result of too-good-to-be-true prices, though the Vc came without instructions or decals, likewise the Tigercat. Am looking forward to Eduard's new-tool Tempest which coincidentally comes with the decals I needed in the box. Am also hoping to get a few FAA kits done, would like to have a crack at Eduard's Hellcat.

Am always open to constructive criticism or advice, one should seek to learn and improve in this hobby...you can never know everything,
