Roger. I was aware of this deficiency in the Airfix kit when I built mine, but fixing it would have been a bridge too far for me.
-
See below, the corrugations clearly wrap around the leading edge.

Lovely! Your building technique is so clean and neat, this looks like a much larger model. -
Indeed! For example, the corrugations should wrap around the wing leading edges... Airfix didn’t even try, which is probably for the better.

MENG 1/72 scale F-102A (Case XX)
billn53 replied to Nikolay Polyakov's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Coming along very nicely. I recently built Meng’s Case X version, in colorful Wisconsin ANG markings like in Retired Bob’s photo above. I have another Case XX in the stash, but am undecided about whether to do another ADC gray or instead SEA camo.- 118 replies

1:1 scale display case for my V Bombers
billn53 replied to Adam Poultney's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I could surely use something like this in my new house. Where can one find the “display case conversion set“ you mentioned? -
Superb progress! And, thanks for the tip on cutting rod at the right angle... that has always been a problem for me, too.

1/72 Special Hobby Fairey Barracuda Mk III
billn53 replied to TonyOD's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Yes, good luck. I built one of the Special Hobby Barracudas not too long ago. Typical short-run challenges. Be careful with the canopy, I managed to put a horrible crack in mine and had to vacuform a replacement. Here’s my WIP in case you’re interested: - Bill -

That looks great! And in gentlemen's scale, too! I thought at first it must be 1/48.- 21 replies

I really like the restrained weathering. Very believably realistic.

Like Steve said. She’s coming along fine and I’m sure will look great when done. I wish I had known of Orso’s build when I did mine. There’s some great work there, he was able to accomplish things I would not have thought possible.

She is a big girl, isn't she? About the control wire outlets on the upper wing. If I recall correctly, the outlets are indeed rectangular (per your cutout), but they were sealed with what appears to be a leather or rubber "boot", with a hole for the cable to pass through. -Bill
