  1. Sorry to resurrect this thread but has anybody had problems with mixing this with Vallejo Model Air ? Initially this worked perfectly but recently this has been turning my paint to gloop like it has alcohol in it but fresh mixes have had the same outcome. Have mixed in metal and plastic cups but same mess has happened. Any ideas ?
  2. I had this happen as well. It turns out that Pledge really needs a long time to cure and that the wash was soaking into and staining the varnish. I changed to Tamiya clear with levelling thinners. Hope this helps.
  3. Complete muck. Ordered the Revell Anthracite , not even close on a colour match. Never touching again.
  4. Made this one not so long ago , nice simple kit to cut your teeth on. Love the brickwork! What colours did you use and how did you get the mortar so realistic? I have one piece of advice for theses Matchbox kits though, pin washes for details are your friend!
  5. Very informative thank you
  6. Another question. These decals would go over the joins in between ribs because there was no stiching over ribs? Thanks for every ones help!!
  7. (If you have some leftover lozenge that is long enough, you can trim those into strips?) Can lozenge strips be used on a Albatross Dv with top lozenge camo ? most photos show a lighter strip over the ribs. And the model is Eduards Dv in Revell packaging , i believe .Have got the Print scale pt2 decals to jazz it up a bit . I did see coloured rib tape in my search for Print scale but cannot for the life of me remember where they were! As a result google was useless ,Typical ain't it?
  8. Saw those earlier ,already got the camo just need the coloured tape
  9. Does anybody know where i can buy said decals in 1/48? Have tried Google and my main online vendors and had no luck.
  10. Thanks for the testing done. Saved me a packet.
  11. Does anybody else use this cleaner? It allows you to dilute to any strength you need for cleaning. Been using it for a while now but slowly it has been turning my VMA into goop when i try to clean out the brush. I thought i had left some cellulose in the brush by mistake so ran an experiment on a ceramic mixing palette , 50/50 mix turned it to goop ,pure turned it to goop and even a very diluted mix turned it to goop. Does it have a use by date ? Really confused now!
  12. Thanks for the answer . With such a small amount built and the timing of production , i think all primer is the way to go.
  13. Just painted the first colour of Red primer for the Kugels turret but with a top hatch open, would the factory have had time and resources to paint the interior the normal ivory? Not found much info on the web seeing as only a handfull were produced. Thanks in advance!!
  14. Hello from one Neal to another Neal.Coincidently i'm only round the corner from you in Rubery .All medics deserve medals in my opinion.Anyhoo will be watching this with interest ,only built one rescue chopper and that was Revells Huey ,nice little kits.
  15. So to take those photos ,you turned a real Vark on its back? Come on tell the truth!! Stunning work...
  16. No need for resin intakes just take your time and smooth the joins where needed .I didnt bother opening the vent just used pigments to show the exhaust stains but thats just me ,how far do YOU want to go?
  17. I went for pylons only in the end ,my photo references from displays showed them flying with just these.May i suggest the Karaya resin cockpit for the Academy kit ,paints up quite nice but a word of warning if you put all the gubbins into the canopy you cant close it and have to display it open (first for me)!
  18. Happy New Year to everyone on the forums!! Bit of a poser for the new year. I'm coming to the end of my Academy Mig build and have done it in the colours of Red 15 wearing the "Kosciuszko Badge" (thats the one with the massive badge on the back!) .My question is, did this aircraft ever fly with its missile racks loaded? Google and my meager stash of books on the Mig-29 ( 1 to be exact ) hasnt showed much in the way of load outs. Thanks in advance for any info!!
  19. Thanks for the answers ,got an idea of what to do now!!
  20. Got a bit of a poser here (well ,it is for me!) Instructions are telling me to put together x98 links of track for each run,Fair enough but the idler wheel (?) at the rear has no fixed position so how are the two supposed to position properly if nothing has an exact location fix?
