Post your progress. Be interesting to see how the two come together -
This is why I don't build bi-planes, the rigging sends me running. This is an absolutely superb job. Love the prop too. Fantastic

So that's the tub put together. I've also opened a space for the LRMTS window which is just a solid mould on the kit Could be a while before any further update, a week in sunny Corfu beckons! Cheers all John -
I hoped no one would notice! John

Here we go then. After much deliberation, I've chosen to build my Jag as "Buster Gonad", as flown during Operation Gransby in 1991. The kit is the Hasegawa 1/72 Jaguar, a fairly old tool but one which has stood the test of time. I'll add some depth to the panel lines (they're a little shallow for me OOB, and these aircraft were dirty). I'll make use of the Pavla MB Mk9 ejection sheet, detailing set from Eduard and the lovely decal sheet from the Aviation Workshop (which will still leave me with enough decals to complete "Johnny Fartpants" and "The Fat Slags" to give me the full Viz set). Early days, really looking forward to this one. John

Great build there. I'm just starting the Hasegawa kit, and going to finish it as either "Johnny Fartpants" or "Buster Gonad". I see you used Testors paints for the finish. What code for the Desert Sand? John -
Revell F-101 Voodoo 1/72

I don't think so. According to http://www.scalemodellingnow.com/hnaircraftkits-revell-f101b-voodoo, the moulding dates back to 1991 and is a re-release. The matchbox kit http://modelingmadness.com/scott/viet/mb101preview.htm looks to have far fewer parts than does the Revell. I also seem to recall that matchbox kits either had raised panel lines, or if they were engraved were so deep and wide you could almost abseil into them. Cheers John -

Here you go Troffa I can't remember where I got this, but it may have been from Airbrushes.com - they certainly stock it. Much of the pigment had flocculated, and despite mixing/stirring, it still blocked my airbrush. In the end, I filtered some through a pair of my girlfriends tights (not while she had them on!) and it went on fine after that -
Great build Andy. Lovely chrome nose ring. I used Alclad chrome for mine, not nearly as good as your bare metal foil............ Now for the F.6! John

Thanks Winenut. See above for my panel line technique. I'll post a walkthrough for doing this on my next build. Cheers -

Thanks Trev. For the panel lines, I always apply Humbrol Clear, then use the new humbrol enamel washes (50% black, 50% dark brown). Apply fairly generously over the entire model in the areas of the lines, then leave to dry for a couple of hours and apply again. Then leave the whole thing to dry for 24 hours (looks a mess at this point), before using a cotton cloth with enamel thinners to wipe away the excess. Also adds a light dirty look which I like. Simply stunning

Hi all, Here's my Revell F-101B Voodoo, Texas ANG. The kit was built OOB, except for the cockpit area taken from the Pavla Models set. Probably should have opened up the cockpit, and also done the yellow canopy framing, might consider doing this. Anyway, hope you like. Cheers John
