  1. I'm just coming towards the end of this kit, Alan. I've balked at the squiggly all-over paint job(XH558). I found it OK. Take care lining up the top & bottom fuselage halves forward of the wings so you get a good cylinder. I attached the wing halves to their respective fuselage halves prior to bringing the top & bottom assys together. The Freightdog(?) resins fit well but the insert portions need a lot of shaping so the wings close nicely and the panel line looks good. Check your references for panel lines. Airfix's are a little inaccurate in places. Good luck! Mark.
  2. Rob, I spent 18 months doing the same as you with this kit! Really loved it. I love the big old Revells. Anyway, you seem to be cracking on. Good luck! Mark.
  3. "Just down the road from me" Yes, I sometimes forget this history stuff went on in our back yard........... Fuselage crosses were smaller than standard, I believe, and the only ones I had were some 1/48s. Slightly too small enough! Thanks for your kind comments. Mark.
  4. My first real post here. Finished this one a couple of months back. I made life a bit difficult trying to replicate this aircraft. Quite a bit of dispute whether it had a yellow tail or white. Nose gun troughs were only described as "light" in the crash report, too. Great kit to make & detail. Really enjoyed it.
  5. That really is one of the best. Great great paint work. Mark
  6. Not a big Hurricane fan but I DO love these Big Revells and your efforts have inspired me to get one of these! That looks great!
  7. I am doing this one right now & I hope my painting comes out as good as that! I love these more basic kits - I loose myself doing all the missing detail. Chipping round the removable panels looks good - I struggle with that.
