But with the included etch details, a bit of paint and extra plastic tube & wire, and a couple of decals for the headboxes, they look a bit tidier. Awful phone pic quality btw, these build shots are all going to look grainy as hell, it'll only be the finished thing which will received the loving attention of my DSLR!

Those decals, by the way are by Airscale and although they only go down to 1/48, the dataplates are great (even if needed to be cut down). Although the placement / detail might not be 100% accurate it still livens up the seats a little, enough to look good in the finished model.

I don't want to be a dog in a manger, but those ejection seats look like Stencel ones (used in US Harriers). The MB seats in UK Harriers looked a bit different:

I've started doing this as well, but they don't come out as well as these.  Mine are neither as clear or as smooth.  Maybe I just don't have the patience, but any hints welcome.

Sorry for the intrusion @Seb.Ace but this will probably be my next build and I'm picking up tips too.  Keep going with your good start  and don't hesitate to ask questions.  I've found people hereabouts very helpful.

Tamiya Polishing Compounds are your friend here. Get the basic shape of your light coverings right, then use the compounds to buff the transparencies to clarity.

Why? When I built mine, that part fitted right in, smoothly. Of course, I added it before I glued the wings together, not waiting to do it in Step 12.

Aha! so you attached wingspar/bulkhead A3 to the upper wing, rather than to the lower one as per the instructions.

Great work. A personal health update  last Saturday thought I was over the flu had an attack of vertigo. I've never felt so queer loss of balance . Got taken to hospital(could'nt drive) usual bloods, ECG and CT brain scan all clear thank heavens. Blood pressure was way high. Had an injection and now on meds Prochlorperazine 5mg for a week. On top of this have to have a tooth out very painful so on 500mg Amoxicillin. Think my balance was an inner ear infection from a tickly cough and tight chest . Just beware if you are recovering to rest and take it easy.

    Apologies for thread drift.

In the wars, eh? Never mind, keep taking the tablets and get better soon.

Unfortunately, while I have lots of ideas, I'm not great at discussing them, and so I'm constantly surprised by reality getting in their way. I wanted to have a big paratrooper wargame set up on the dining room table for when they came down Christmas morning, and've been working in secret towards that goal in between freelance work, cleaning the house after they go to bed to remind myself what it looks like, and, less often, sleep. I've painted and based around 80 US airborne and fallschirmjager, and 3D-printed three M4A1s and three StuG IVs, to do a very stylized and imbalanced version of the Battle of Bloody Gulch on the outskirts of Carentan. Yes, I know they won't care, but I did the research, and that's what the 2nd Armored and the 17. SS-Panzergrenadier "Gotz von Berlichten" divisions were using at that point. (Carentan represents the storied clash of the least effective airborne division in Normandy versus the worst Waffen-SS division present, though I ran out of time and the StuGs are just being supported by fallschirmjager in their dorky little onesies.)

Someone was perhaps having a literary joke when the 17. Panzergrenadier were renamed Götz von Berlichingen. The historical Götz actually existed, fought in the Swabian Peasant's War, and lost his right hand in battle (which was replaced by an iron prosthesis). However, Goethe wrote a play about him, which is notorious for the Götz-Zitat, or Götz Quote, in which our protagonist says "Er aber, sag's ihm, er kann mich im Arsche lecken" or, roughly, "Him, on the other hand, you can tell to F off" (literally, lick my bottom). Strong stuff for 1774!
