  1. Here you go, All of the Toms modelworks 1/72 most are WW1 http://www.tomsmodelworks.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22_29 And the airwaves set http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AEC72016 I also got some of the eduard sets, seats and seat belts, but I seem to use more of the airwaves stuff. Plus I am waiting on Mike Grant 1/72 decals for dials and instruments as no one I could find does just dials etc in 1/72. I know they are for WW2 aircraft but at 1/72 I don't think most would notice any real difference apart from the "rivet counters"!
  2. I am currently building a Revell DVII and for the cockpit I am using some from the airwaves set. Also Toms Modelworks does some generic german interior sets. The rest I am scratching as I couldn't find a specific interior set. Regards Justin
  3. Looks great and in such a small scale! What scale is it? I have the old heller kriegsmarine set and the schnellboots are 1/400, tiny!
  4. Cheers Chadders, I was considering buying the 1/35 scale ones but 1/72 is more my thing! Sweet can't wait!
  5. Didn't think of that! A much easier cost free solution!
  6. It should work out at just a mite over 27cm. I converted the real ships length into 1/700 scale. Also if you can find it there is this, I have no idea how much conversion you would need to do though, http://www.scalemates.com/products/product.php?id=144898 Hope this helps
  7. Thanks Beefy, Same stuff I use for rigging my aircraft; Just run it under a sharpie and its also got some stretch to it so you can make it quite taught.
  8. Fantastic, I couldn't do that with oil paints, the drying times would frustrate me! Love the highlights and shading, captured beautifully.
  9. Thanks guys, I have a couple more to build in the stash, but I am attempting to build all the ww2 U-Boat types!
  10. Vincent, that's some impressive micro modelling! Looks fantastic!
  11. Yeah cut it to shape and just use normal plastic cement. You can get it in different thicknesses and unless you scratch build loads you won't use loads. Plus its cheap as chips. I buy the multi evergreen pack which has 4 different thicknesses and I do some scratch building and still have loads left after 6 months. But its always useful to have some for repairs and filling gaps, especially if you accidentally cut/file then sand too much of a ships superstructure not once but twice!!! But its one of those things that you will need at some point again. Regards Justin
  12. Hi Dave, Ouch, I think we have all dropped one at some point, me more than one! But I am a klutz sometimes. As for the damage, I would recommend squaring the edges off then inserting a piece of plastic card to give the milliput a base to shape from. There may be a better way but with a huge hole it might prove easier. Looking good on the rest and you have an avid watcher here! Justin
  13. Another one finished! And with its lil brother; The ensign seems to have fallen to half mast! Quite weathered as these were the long range boats. As always comments and pic ups welcome, Justin
  14. Winenut, that is looking ace! The prop is fantastic and the dio setting looks like a great idea. Impatiently awaiting more!
  15. Fantastic Callum, some top work there. Seeing all three on the seascape will be awesome.
  16. Hi all, The U-Boat fest is continuing, have a coupe on the go and this one was just finished today! Thanks for the interest, as always comments and pick ups welcome. Justin
  17. Hi Matt, I airbrush revell acrylics and had the same issues as you did, I found it was thinning with water that caused me the issue. I now thin for airbrush use with tamiya x20a and have had no issues. I also spray around 20psi. Hope this helps, Justin
  18. Sorry bomber I am with invidia, your conning tower is on backwards,Cracking model though, I will be having a crack at one soon in my uboat fest! Regards Justin
  19. Absolutely stunning! Impressive work, more please! You have captured the skin tones perfectly, the eyes are simply fantastic, I only wish I could ever be that good.
  20. I use an iPad, got lots of reference books, the kindle versions, plus have the net and it's small enough to sit on the workbench. I find it better than having books on the bench, plus ebooks are cheaper. But you can be limited in which titles are available as ebooks. Justin
