  1. Hi Steve, great buy, its WW1and I have one in the stash so I will be watching with interest.
  2. Cheers Chris, I was aware and have one plus a VIIB in the stash. I have some great books on the u-boats. Thanks for the comments, will be a while before it gets done though currently on a Revell 1/144 type IIB. Regards Justin
  3. Hi all, A question as I have a few 109's in the stash as yet untouched. Has anyone used the airwaves mottle masks? If so good, bad indifferent? Regards Justin
  4. Hi Rick, They have been dispatched so hopefully tomorrow or Friday, I am dying to get cracking!
  5. Thanks for the heads up Tony, I started it length wise even after looking at the pattern in my references! Doh!
  6. I promised pics of the crap decals; I even tried covering the decals on the sheet with klear, no help unfortunately. Too far degraded! Decals have been removed, and its back on the shelf awaiting postie to bring better ones hopefully!
  7. Amazing! I especially love the the panel variations, fantastic build thread! Can't believe I only just found this.
  8. Fantastic, a lovely build. The rigging is great!
  9. Thanks Epeeman, I found out about the lozenge interior after getting the fuselage together! But in revell's call out it just goes for brown I think. There was no way I was going to paint the lozenge pattern though! As for the lozenge I bought some microscale 4 colour lower lozenge which we'll has seen better days! Managed to get some on the upper wing but the are extremely fragile all crazing paving style! So have ordered some new stuff so the build will probably be on hold till they arrive. Just need to paint the white on the upper wing surface, once that done will have to find another project for some time. Will take pics of the lozenge incident tomorrow. Justin
  10. Cheers Rick, A small update, prime red and base coats on. Next some Klear then probably a small fight with the lozenge decals, there was no way I was going to paint the kit ones! Regards Justin
  11. I built the Bismarck, hood and ark royal. The hood surprisingly not a bad kit, but as Seahawk said in her pre war config. The ark royal was average, but the Bismarck was horrendous, I didn't finish painting it as it was that bad, glad I didn't buy any extras. I have the Belfast in the stash, it will probably be my last airfix ship.
  12. Love it, great finish. So rigging the next one? The base really sets it off, Regards Justin
  13. Looks fantastic Winenut! Great finish, so when's the next ww1 aircraft due? Justin
  14. I couldn't find anything in 1/72 so far, but I did find this; http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models/Aircraft/Burgess-Dunne-FlyingWing.html Maybe you could use the plans and scratch build one?
  15. Been ages since I last posted, got caught up in U-boats and a Nieuport 17! The lower wing has been straightened, thanks for the tip Steve (another 2 in the stash!). A bit of gap filling needed, The cockpit and seat apart from the flight stick done, didn't want to try too much, but have a couple of etch sets on the way which I hope to use on the next build. This one is going to be as per the box art as Oblt Rudolph Berthold of Jasta 11. The other two I haven't decided on yet! Comments always welcome, Justin
  16. I found it on ebay for £20 a repop of the frog/novo/eastern express model. The moulds are clear showing their age! Yep they are def still poo! But I have got the atlantic models PE so it should hopefully look the part when done…….hopefully! Now that is something I would love to see!
  17. Hi folks, This one is probably going to be a bit long in the construction as its a fair sized project. A start, there was loads of flash and filler will be needed. I will hopefully get the hull together today, Regards Justin
  18. Cracking idea Ray, Looks great so far, was wondering were that fish was going!
  19. Have just taken the plunge too! Ordered the DVII and F2B sets lets see if they fit, if not, means I ill just have to buy the roden kits! Thanks for the info Jack, sorry dr_gn for kinda hijacking your thread!
  20. I have had a look, lots of detail sets but mostly for roden kits. I wonder if the would fit the revell kits or even my growing stash of pegasus kits, which I have loads of!
  21. Thanks Houston, I used acrylic gel medium, cheap acrylic paints and klear, Regards Justin
  22. Absolutely Stunning Foxy! Followed the build and the end is truly a fantastic diorama!
