  1. That's looking great proc, shame about the decals I was considering building my HB one after the mig. Hopefully my decals won't be too bad.
  2. That tub looks fantastic! Puts mine to shame!
  3. Looking good HT, I love sabres and miss, I have a sabre in the stash, might build that to go alongside the mig for the group build.
  4. Wow, you don't hang about HT, great start!
  5. Cant believe I only just found this thread, both Hurricanes are looking impressive, a great build idea too. Will be keeping mu eye on this one from now on!
  6. Some stunning work on the old bird! Fantastic, your brush painting is awesome!
  7. Absolutley fantastic! I think that is a brilliant build! Only 8 eh, in a couple of years he will put most of us to shame!
  8. It's the revell rebox of the matchbox kit http://modelingmadness.com/review/mod/mcdf4.htm Regards Justin
  9. Looking good snapper, I did have one of these in the stash, but sold it a couple of years ago, as I didn't think my skills were good enough at the time. Damn shame as I want again! The turrets look great, looking forward to see how the scribing goes as I am scribing virgin!
  10. Holy hell! Thats an impressive model, and the size of it! Very impressive work, and out of card! Well done.
  11. Fantastic work! I love the gun the detail on the breech is superb, a cracking looking kit.
  12. Nice going Proc, the ALcad finish looks superb, will put my Revell aluminium finish to shame no doubt!
  13. Cheers Sean, Yeah I used to dip in klear and use CA thats how I used to get thumb prints on the un masked part whilst being cack handed! I use GS Hypo cement for glueing canopies now and Kkristal Klear for gap filling around canopies as its better than PVA, but I never had any luck using Kristal Klear for the glueing of canopies, go figure!
  14. A bit of an update, The main parts together last night, Today I have spent the most of masking the replacement canopy, I tend not to have much luck with canopies in masking, attaching, fogging and leaving nice thumb prints in CA glue on the original kit canopies! But pavla to the rescue. Did some different masking trials today with liquid mask, tamiya tape, parafilm (which was really quite hard to get the hang of, but will persevere, ended up using 1mm masking tape for the frame edge and tamiya tape for the centre. Next time I will use the 1mm tape but use the liquid mask in the centre might save some time. So masked canopy attached and due to it being an AM piece quite a noticeable gap which I filled with krystal clear. Hope it works! Regards Justin
  15. Two cracking Spits! And big kudos for your brush painting, the finish is superb. Justin
  16. Absolutely superb! I love the panel variations on the metal finishes, one I intend to try, but the blackbird is stunning! Followed the build and I don't think I would be able to let them go!
  17. Well work has started in earnest! I have to admit it may be a bit of a simpler kit in terms of part numbers but the moulding is fantastic! The cockpit tub is now complete, not too much done apart from added seat belts and instrument panel, not accurate but looks the part I think; Splitter has been painted as well as the interior of the fuselage. Will hopefully have something that resembles a Mig 15 soon! Thanks for looking, Justin
  18. Hi all, Great to be here on my first Britmodeller group hug, er build! Here is my entry, hopefully the writing on the box will prove to be true! Just washed the kit and have tidied up the fuselage and wings. Pics to follow soon, hopefully! Regards Justin
  19. Hi Sean, I would like to join this GB, will be my first on Britmodeller! I only have a single Korean era in the stash, a hobbyboss Mig 15. Don't know which scheme yet though, Regards Justin
  20. Thanks Dave, I have nothing larger than 1/72 in the stash but I have come up with a plan. A DIII of Jasta 27 of Herman Goering I think. Regards Justin
  21. Thanks guys, it was a really fun build two more in the stash so thinking of ideas for the other two! Regards Justin
  22. Fantastic work Beefy and congratulations for a first in class, excellent!
  23. An absolutely stunning build, I agree you never see a bad WNW model. Must be the cost that makes everyone better builders I guess? Cracking!
  24. Cheers Winenut, The RFI is here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234960012-revell-172-fokker-dvii-oblt-rudolph-bertholds-steed/ As for the base I used mavis scenics static grass and a cheap applicator that I bought of ebay about 2 years ago. The base is a taxidermy mahogany base that I use as a Photo base.
