  1. Looking great Carts, I really should have picked the Aliens models up when they were released!
  2. Your not the only one Tomo, how many times have you pulled it out of the stash, thought that will look awesome built, then quietly put it away again! So maybe we need to combine our resources and opt for a buddy build?
  3. Great start Pin, as another avid builder a rigger of WW1 aircraft I can't wait to see this progress, you may need some extra rigging material to cover the miles of the stuff you will use!
  4. I use Zap zip kicker, glue on the attachment end of where the line goes, line dipped in kicker touch to glue and a couple of seconds all done. Or you could spray it on. I use it for my ww1 rigging. Just note it does make the bond more brittle. I have found it works with all the different brands of CA I have used plus foam safe odourless CA.
  5. That looks stunning Vincent! The lozenge looks great, I have started my DIII and nicked some of your detailing ideas!
  6. Good progress Kev, I might nick the apron idea as I am really annoyed at how much I feed the carpet monster!
  7. Great work snapper, I have to agree with the others who said over engineered! What's the parts count?
  8. My thoughts exactly, just finished the Nieuport and in am determined to have no more than two builds on the go, currently there is a DIII but the other build shelf had the sabre put on it this evening. Should get some started tomorrow!
  9. I have built that one too, the only issue I found was the decal stripes for the fuselage, you have to paint the white stripe and then add the black and red decal stripes around the circumference, mine wouldn't sit right so I just painted the stripes instead.
  10. Actually a really simple but cracking idea! I will keep that one in mind if I ever make the same mistake!
  11. Thanks Steve, If you do get one you will need aftermarket decals, I tried wit the Esci ones got the first half on kinda OK but the rest disinetrgrated when they smelt water. Half the decals on mine where from a kindly donated eduard sheet. Regards Justin
  12. Hi all, Another completed WW1 aircraft for the collection. Eduard seat and belts added. Regards Justin
  13. MIG 15bis PLA Air Force "Red Fox". Hobbyboss 1/72 Easy assembly kit built OOB apart from vac form canopy, IP decal and tape seat belts.
  14. Thanks Tomo, he red was Revell Carmine Red 36. Its matt and looks quite dull until you add the Klear. Well didn't take long to finish, decals went on last night and this morning was panel lines a light weathering. Mostly happy with it apart from the wing roots and the replacement canopy. For the wing roots I was a bit heavy handed and it was my first time using Mr Surfacer, the canopy just couldn't get it to fit right.. All in though it looks good from a little way off and will still look good in the cabinet. Next up will be a Sabre to complement the Mig this time it should be much better! Without further ado, I give you my MIG 15bis PLA Air Force "Red Fox". Thanks for looking and the comments gents. I thoroughly enjoyed this build! Regards Justin
  15. Cracking build, the kit looks fantastic!
  16. The repair looks great Dave, good job. The flight looks awesome.
  17. Great looking cockpit, the detail painting is superb!
  18. Great start. I really am gaining to have to start rescribing panel lines.
  19. Thats ingenuity, "I need a lathe, but the cost a pretty penny. Sod that I will build my own!"
  20. Quite a bit of progress today, On with all the undercarriage and speed brakes, all of which looks great but I the angle of the gear makes it sit wrong. Ah well, It shouldn't be long tip I finish this one, I have a couple of kits to clear then my intention is to build an HB sabre and see how that one goes. I bought the easy build kits for a bit of fun but they look really quite decent when built up. Doh forgot the macro setting! More soon.
  21. Looks fantastic Steve, A great looking string bag! Love it!
  22. Well work has continued yesterday and today, I have a new badger airbrush which I have been practicing with as I need to get used to it, compared to cheap chinese copies. A few woes, trials and issues during the Mig painting but I have found out a few things, tamiya X20 is a better thinner for revell paints than the ultimate airbrush thinner, water or IPA, plus I don't rate the ultimate cleaner much either unfortunately, which is a shame as the reviews have been good. I bought both as they weren't too expensive, but now my new airbrush cleaner of choice is Mr Muscle glass cleaner cheap as chips! Anyway back on topic(whoops!), the build; Its looking a bit shabby around the wing roots as I was a bit over exuberant with the sanding stick! Hopefully I can tidy it up without too much in the way of issues. Plus the vac form canopy isn't the greatest, my first ever after market vac form didn't go too bad though. More soon, Justin
  23. Nice tub Steve, that camo looks like it will fun!
