  1. Well a lot more progress, Had to redo the base, In the base, All thats left is to finish the sea with some white for the wake etc (the white along the ship is PVA drying to fill some gaps) add and paint the railings, the anchor (kept falling off) and then the sorry excuse for flags. All in all not a great model, the fit of the parts was pretty bad! When I looked at the reboxed airfix kriegsmarine set the mouldings all look cleaner and crisper! Will hopefully finish this one tomorrow! Regards Justin
  2. Wow, That Pontos PE looks stunning, some excellent work with the PE Guy! I foresee another gorgeous ship!
  3. Awesome! That's an impressive project! Loved the 42's speedboats of the warship world! More please ! Regards Justin
  4. Hi all, Don't know if this has been posted before but came across this website. If you click on the colour search it allows you to upload your own photo or one from the web and check the colours of the real ship, tank etc. Just be wary of picture quality, shadows etc. I tried it with a picture of HMS Belfast and the colours were mostly spot on. http://scalemodeldb.com/paint Also found this for those who have a titanic in the stash! http://titanic-model.com/paint/ Regards Justin
  5. Wow that box art is indeed hideous, glad you went your own way with your version! Much better!
  6. Welcome Anne Marie, Those are really cool, what scale are they! Love Han Solo from a massive Star Wars fan! Is there any other Star Wars figures? Regards Justin
  7. Wow, first model in years and its impressive! So does this mean you are well and truly on the old now? Regards Justin
  8. Now that is beautiful!, 2 years, I think I would have lost the will to live!! I would like to know more about the Hasegawa PE as I have used WEM/GMM/L'arsenal and have some Toms model works in the stash. Cracking model! Justin
  9. Some more progress tonight, I decided that the kit mast was pants, so first attempt at scratching a mast from brass for me, don't think it turned out too bad! Little bit of a clean up needed then painted and on to the model, Regards Justin
  10. Thanks again guys, Glad I helped spark an interest. Well when my torpedo boat is finished I will be building another WW1 era plane, mmm which one to do…... Regards Justin
  11. That Pontos set looks incredible! Those turrets are cracking, will be waiting patiently for more!
  12. Superb build of the life belt stowage! Looking good! Justin
  13. More progress, And yesterday Had to scratchbuild a new aft mast and a joining section between the forward bridge and fwd funnel as it wouldn't fit right. All in all not a bad model so far but needs some work to make it even a little presentable. I didn't airbrush as I am still waiting on the new compressor and I got bored of waiting to continue the build so the hairy sticks were used. I haven't painted the red anti fouling paint either due to it hopefully being in a sea base! Regards Justin
  14. Hi Tiking Still loving that dio, I would go for the setup in the fifth photo, with the concrete cinder road blocks, much more authentic than road cones or barrels for where you are trying to depict this sort of scene from, Regards Justin
  15. Thanks guys, Yeah I think the kits are cracking too, the decals were fantastic and I would recommend them. I have an SE5 and Sopwith Triplane which I picked up on Friday from the Newark Air museum cheap as chips. So will be building them soon hopefully! Regards Justin

  18. Hi all, Just thought I would upload another of my previous builds. This has really sparked an interest on the same par with my ship models so ships and WW1 fighters will be my main themes! As I only have two AFV's and one figure in the stash left the rest is Ships, boats and string bags! Will have to work on my photography! Regards Justin
