  1. Hi all, Whilst waiting for some oil paints to dry in my SE5a cockpit, ,I wanted a quick build that was fun, but also for my first foray into airbrushing! It went well for a first go, looks ten times better than if I had brush painted! So here it is, lightly weathered, just needs a flat coat when I break out the airbrush again. But its finished otherwise. Regards Justin
  2. Cracking build, read the book Nautilus 90 north, quite a good read, all about the North Pole trip.
  3. Yeah, almost as lazy as WAFU's! Now in my bunker awaiting the flak for the statement above!
  4. Hi all, A little more was completed today, just applied the wood effect with oils, so have to wait for it to dry to apply the wash and get the fuselage together. The scratch built cockpit so far. I have added rudder pedals which you can't see when the fuselage is joined ! Doh! A new seat to be added tomorrow, IP and boxes for holding lewis gun spare magazines (or a representation of)! Regards Justin
  5. This is how we look so far, Onto touch ups, rigging and railings next! Regards Justin
  6. Thanks, yeah the tank is in the open, was aiming for an advance through an open field towards the British. Regards Justin
  7. I wouldn't be ashamed of your first model, I would be gladly showing that off! You should have seen my first two models! As for the work and attention to detail on the F1 I am impressed, your a master in the making!
  8. Ouch my eyes would hurt doing that! Nice build, where did you get the figures from?
  9. I would also recommend the as186 compressor quiet and has a tank. I got mine as a bundle with two double action airbrushes everything works great so far and I think I paid around £60.
  10. Ah, well good luck, York was my last 42 took her into decommission too, must make a model of her some day! Good luck with the future career choice, so WE then?
  11. So just out of interest did you serve on the Edinburgh ? My last 42 was York. Regards Justin
  12. Stunning Dio, thanks for sharing!
  13. Hi Liney, It was 30 Thous thickness 20 was too thin and 40 too thick. I have quite a few more in the stash too, so I will be trying to rig the SE5 nothing too ambitious though! Regards Justin
  14. Oooo that could be interesting! Well decided to build it without the pilot, so decided to start some scratch building of the cockpit, also waiting on some Airwaves and Eduard sets for seats and little bits. A new floor and back panel; An instrument panel, will add black card to the back and fill the holes with some Klear and remove the bottom part as I checked my reference pics. This is my first attempt at scratch building a cockpit interior, next will be to scratch the two spare Lewis magazines………..hopefully!
  15. Yoda is fab but I am completely stunned at how good Smaug is, a fantastic piece! Plus the riddler, hand painted question marks, I would have been cross eyed by the time one leg was done and he may have made a trip out of the window!!!! Stunning work Anne-Marie and WW2 diorama to boot!
  16. Looks awesome! Recycling a rolex to build a model thats a new one to me!
  17. Hi all, So although I build most things, my main areas of interest are ships/subs and stringbags! My next project; As per usual for WW1 fighters not much in the bag; And the date stamp! My last build was a reveal Sopwith Camel which I loved building so I am hoping this one goes half as well. Regards Justin
