  1. Hi Paul,

I've recently bought a set of South African MAV decals to model a Silver Falcon MB.326 in the old 'republic scheme' of orange, white and blue but I'm a little disappointed at the apparent print quality. It's quite easy to see where the printer has attempted to approximate a colour shade because it leaves lots of dots or stripes of different shades in those areas. I just wondered if you'd be able to produce a better set for me? You'd need to be able to print a kind of metallic brass looking colour along with white for the roundels though.

    Simon

    Hi Simon

Can you email the decal sheet to parkes682@aol.com and i will have look for you

    Paul

  4. Hi Paul - do you have any of these left? Bruce

    Hi Bruce

Im taking 5 sets of TSR.2 Demonstrator decals to Cosford,6 sets of Anti Flash Blue serials numbers and 6 Pre Production XS660 to XS670 Sets as well. The shortage is due to clear decal supplier waiting for a fresh stock of clear decal otherwise i would have had 10 sets of each.

    Paul

  5. That looks good Paul. Do they need to be pre-ordered or can I decide on the day?

    Tony :clif:

    Hi Tony

Yes they need to be pre-ordered because of a shortage of clear decal film at the moment from my supplier,he's waiting for the next supply to come.

So you will pick them at Cosford, the cost for them is £10.00 on the day.

    The set includes 4 BAC Large ,4 BAC Small,4 TSR.2 Large,4 TSR.2 Small,4 Rolls Royce,2 Pilots Names,2 Mission Markings,4 XR221 blue,and flags of users

    Hope this helps

  9. Hi All

I have been asked by several modellers to make a set of serial numbers for the prototype TSR.2 missing is XR 221,223,224,225,226,227 that sadly only managed to make to the build stage and not flyable. Is there any others that want these only i will be doing a short run of these and bringing them along to the Cosford show in a few weeks time.

Get in quick they from past runs go very quickly indeed, orders now being taken

The cost will be £7.50 and no postage all printed on to clear decal

  11. Hi Paul Thanks for the Helpful hint,( i hope it's the RIGHT shade ??) i will be in touch with Hannant's soon.

    i've just got to confirm,is it Dayglo RED,or ORANGE ??( i THINK it's Orange,more likely.....??)

    Anyone else got any idea??

    Thanks again,Barrie.

    Hi Barrie

They do the full set of daygo ther's 40 different colours and they do strips, stars and checkers in most of the colours too its cheaper and easier and you can get a razor sharp edge when use scissors/scapel with a steel rule on a sheet of glass attached to a MDF sheet of 18 mm A4 size is all you need. The only thing you have to keep sharp is the scapel as after a while the edge does go.

    Cheers

  12. I've got the same Historex punch set; got it from Little-Cars for a shade under £40.00

All mine came in good condition except the smallest punch that had a slight bend on it but hardly noticeable.

They all work exceptionally well an varying thickness's of plastic giving nice clean holes - I use exactly the same hammer as in Mart's post.

My only gripe is that I wish that they had come in a better container that a plastic bag; I'm still on the lookout for a small box that they will fit in to snugly so they don't rattle around too much...

    Karl

    Hi Karl

I made my own using GFS (Tool Steel -01) and 6mm perspex and made the punches out of a material called D2 its the correct steel for punches and you cannot bend it.The D2 has to be vacum hardened and then ground flat to produce a sharp cutting edge. The cutting clearence has to .001" to get it right otherwise it will not work properly( remember once you have cut halfway the slug should drop away)Mine starts at .5 mm to 10 mm it works .It does help i you are a qualified Press Tool Toolmaker as well. The ones you have shown in the photos look cheap and nasty made from mild steel,i think they are ripping you off.You get what you paid for its better to use the right materials they will last you a lifetime

  13. Hi Paul,hope you're well ??

i was wondering.any chance of doing a set of Day-Glo markings for the Meteor T Mk 7??

    In 1/72.

    I think it's Day-Glo Red....(??)Stripes,on the Wings,Nose and rear Fuselage.

Can You help ?? If so,How much??

    Cheers.Baz

    Hi Baz

Right,Hannant do a trim film by superscale/microscale the code number is

MSTF 28 Bright Glow Red i think its £1.99 sheet (7"x5") its solid colour and is easily cut to size using scissors and applied the same as you would apply decals. There range of colours extend to at the moment to 30 colours. www.hannants.co.uk
