Looks like a sequel idea for the genius who created the t-34 v mustang diorama that I saw on here!

I thought you both "violently" agreed that Hasegawa is the way to go but due to cost some other options were provided and buildexamples?? As a subtext for a "6ft view" modeler like me the advice was excellent (I was looking for a 1/48 one myself) and for a non-Skyhawk ninja the images are inspiring but also total respect for those with amazing hands-on experience.

I think the dust is amazing. On that sort of ground it does appear "solid" so I cant think of anyway you could make it better. Its also amazing as the cars pass how the dust dissipates quickly as if the car is carrying around its own personal storm cloud and that is captured perfectly. A couple of people on here have the incredible skill of making a dead piece of plastic move and this is one of them.

1/48 AIRFIX SEA VIXEN 890NAS
BristolBlue replied to FIGHTS ON's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Www.seavixen.org will give you some of the history of lost crews. I remember in London on charing x bridge a campaigner set up camp to highlight loss of aircrew caused by poor design. Assume he sat there due to proximity of ministry buildings. No politics just a distant memory.- 11 replies

If I could do one build half (well a quarter but I'm bigging myself up) as good as any of these I would be delighted. Just wonderful.

Great collection - the ju88 is my favourite because it is such a worn out kit.

Airfix 1/144 SRN4 Hovercraft
BristolBlue replied to rardp's topic in Ready for Inspection - Maritime
Hope this is allowed for the competition - does it float or fly?? - only joking as someone said already a stunning build of a really difficult kit....I remember the brilliant little cars on mine that I tried to copy! -

Chipmunk T10 Airfix 1/72

Elvis Lives and this is 1/24 scale AT LEAST. Another Scam - unbelievable work so beautiful...the simple detail around the tail is perfection. -
Bristol Beaufighter - a question for the guitarists amongst us.
BristolBlue replied to Beard's topic in Aircraft WWII
Slight tangent but at what point did any designer consider ergonomics for the pilot. Any cockpit right up to quite recently seems like a random collection of dials and levers with no consideration for how a bit of design could have helped pilot and made it a better "office" and therefore surely safer/more effective. -
Great 1/24 scale scratch building!!! Wonderful I cannot believe the heritage of this.

Thank you graham - that is the one. The crew included what looks like a large number of flying officers and Sgt pilots. My uncle had only just arrived and was a pilot so my thought is was it a familiarisation flight or similar?? I have the crew list but am not at home tonight.

My uncle (George "ron" smith) flew with 37 squadron and died on a mission to bomb Rhodes harbour. They crashed in turkey and he is buried in a local village. I have the paperwork from kew plus some personal letters. Pm me if for any reason that would be of interest to school project. I keep meaning to build his aircraft but it's a bit daunting.

Who needs fancy paint schemes with skills like that...fantastic....still doing mine in the "standard" scheme as I could NEVER carry off the black like you have done. Superb.

Kev67 - Can you LIDAR scan "life" that might resolve your issue? Great post that deserved a funnier reply.

Tamiya Spitfire Mk.I 1:48 (Newbie Alert)
BristolBlue replied to Dema's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Every NEWBIE who publishes such good builds pushes me further away from publishing my pathetic efforts and I have been trying for years!!! Great build. -
Don't tell me to take a look at what I'm typing. Many crashes recently and by luck nobody killed until today. Maybe if everything a plane crashed at an airshow the same defensive attitude was not present and people seriously looked at the issues this would not have happened. It's not an accident it was bound to happen. Because people enjoy looking at old aircraft perform aerobatics 7 people died. Fact. In this thread people have said shame about loss of an old aircraft and i have to think before I type.
-
Well if I organised an event that killed a random 7 people I would expect uproar. 7 people dead. 7 people with probably zero interest in aviation or old aircraft. 7 people dead for random pleasure of others. The number of crashes recently clearly means it needs looking at.

So so good on so many levels. Subject, detail and capturing that "less than perfect" look of gt cars in that era. Stunning. -

What would be your 'Dream' CAR OR BIKE kit'?
BristolBlue replied to roymattblack's topic in Vehicle Discussion
Series 2 Elise or Exige - the way they are made "full size" would translate well to scale plastic.
