  1. First time I've done anything other than ww2 aircraft - good experience!!
  2. Just finished bandai 1/48 AT-ST. (Just needs a touch up here and there but otherwise done) What a great kit! Goes together like lego - no glue required. No fit issues of any sort. Painted with Tamiya Acrylics and wethered with Vallejo Washes - did not want to use my usual oils as Bandai plastics prone to cracking. Finished base with a pva glue and sprinkle of railway modellers grass and stones. Please excuse my amateur hour photography. Hope you like it!
  3. Hi all Just completed my Tamiya 1/48 mosquito - built oob with exception of Eduard belts and Aviaeology Decals for my chosen scheme. No issues with the build except of my own making - managed to lose the nose cone and guns - the cone was replaced by a surprisingly ill fitting item from Aries. Will sort guns in due course. I used some artistic licence is no known evidence of invasion stripes on wings - A couple of things where help is needed: 1 Cannot seem to get perfect results with the glazing. Used Eduard masks but only gave partially good results. I have tried various methods before - but nothing seems 100% satisfactory - please help! 2 I see so many great photos on here so again any advice would be appreciated. I used my iPhone for these photos - but have access to dslr. Hope you like it.
  4. Thanks for your words of encouragement, guys - much appreciated. The kit was a pleasure to build - no fit problems other than of my own making. Highly recommended, especially for the price!
  5. Hi James In terms of the chipping, I initially primed with vallejo primer, then sprayed humbrol metal cote aluminium, followed by a coat of hairspray, then pre shaded and sprayed main colours. I used water, a toothpick and sanding stick to rub away top coat and pre shade to reveal metal, cote underneath - I think I went too far - next time will put the brakes on!
  6. First post on here - been lurking in the shadows for years! Here is my Spitfire built straight from the box with exception of HGW belts and Kagero decals. Not entirely accurate as should be be a Mk1 - just needs a few final details adding. I feel I overdid the pre shade, but is only my third kit painted with an airbrush and still getting to grips with it. Also trying out various techniques such as paint chipping - I think I went a bit overboard! Thanks for looking.
