  1. I think that KARAYA got it right but I have only one blurred photo that shows this particular part of the aeroplane so I might be wrong.
  2. Greetings from Athens, This is my current build, the one and only -literally- Blackburn Pellet, from KARAYA's all resin kit in 1/72nd. The Pellet was an unsuccessful entry of the 1923 Schneider Trophy competition, nevertheless a very beautifully aeroplane a model of which I have always been meaning to build. I hope I will be able to finish it within a reasonable time though because I have abandoned a couple of models lately and that is something I had never done before my daughter was born 7 years ago. Anyway, what you see here is as far as I have gone and having only relied on reference I have found on the Internet I would very much appreciate any additional help in terms of reference photos or info I would get from you. In return I present you with some modelling tips (as always) "hidden" in the following building tutorial:
  3. I built my 2nd Gaspatch Me-163B using the Easy-Peasy after-market set (also from Gaspatch) so I prepared a few slides focusing on the differences from my 1st one - shown here :
  4. That's a good question Pete. I couldn't resist the temptation of trying it (minus the dolly). The cradle surprisingly did hold the 163 model but only marginally, so I took it off after 4-5 seconds. I wouldn't recommend it though at least not before some measures are taken such as use of strong c/a glue, reinforcing pins etc.
  5. The Schlepper is Gaspatch Models' first full 3D-print production kit. 3D-print kits require a slightly different approach in construction and present some unique difficulties. In this building tutorial I have recorded my way of dealing with these issues. I hope you will find it useful.
  6. Hi guys, this is my 127th build and 2nd Gaspatch Me-163, the 1st one (Yellow 23) being here: Although these aircraft were not that weathered, having shown quite little action during the last months of WW II, I couldn't resist the pleasure of a mild weathering effect on the Yellow I contrary to Yellow 23. Enjoy:
  7. Greetings from Athens. This is what I am currently building. There are a lot (more) WIP pics in my usual way of PowerPoint slides so please bear with me and enjoy!
  8. This is the WIP gallery of my latest build Enjoy and keep modelling.
  9. Well, actually it does not look that shiny to the naked eye. I specifically attended to that by applying a semi-gloss finish which admittedly looks a bit more shiny in these photographs. Nevertheless these aircraft saw little combat action during the last months of war and that is why I didn't put too much weathering on the model.
  10. Well, having built all the Gaspatch releases so far, I can tell you that the high quality of the first one has been retained to all the others including this one. Smart engineering, very accurate representation of the aircraft, flawless mouldings, plenty of detail, in-scale small parts, ease of construction, no need for after-market photo-etched parts, excellent decals, and instructions sheet, are the main characteristics of this kit. Gaspatch has also released an update set in 3D printed resin that makes it even more detailed. I haven't used it here, but I will in my current build of a second Me-163B, so more about it in the near future. Apart from a Yahu-like instrument panel, a good paintjob, and a decent weathering, I think that you hardly need anything else in order to build a very accurate and detailed model of the famous rocket fighter.
  11. Greetings from Greece, This is my 125th build, straight from the box of Gaspatch Models’ latest release – the Me-163B, yet another example of the high-quality products this firm is capable of producing. It was built within just 4 months -quite an achievement for me- and It depicts W/Nr. 191916 “Yellow 26” of JG400 at Brandis in April 1945 which is also in the box art. Keep modelling.
  12. Greetings from Athens/Greece Congratulations on your build. It really looks great in this unusual camouflage. I am currently building Gaspatch Model’s kit in 1/48th and I am considering painting it in 74/75/76 rather than 81/82/76. Could you please provide me with this photographic documentation that you mentioned in your post? I would really appreciate it. I could also use a scan/photo of the painting instructions of the decals you found in hobby.dn.ua. I hope it is not much of a trouble.
  13. Thank you very much. Your work is also awesome to say the least. Please keep it up.
  14. Greetings from Athens/Greece. There is a great kit in 1/48th for the AG-330 from Hypersonic Models. I have built it and posted it here: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/viewtopic.php?f=47751&t=513723&from_new_topic=1
  15. Thank you Mike. Your remark is indeed very accurate however, the prop was intentionally left unweathered because the general look of the model (regarding weathering) was already heavy and I thought a propeller in pristine condition would balance it out. So, yes the propeller had been recently replaced and the spinner overhauled, which might have been very common especially in Noemfoor island with all this coral debris flying around.
  16. Thanks a lot. No, I do not have them but fortunately there is a lot of reference info for the P-40. Preferably when it comes to such a crucial detail as the rivet plan, I would use close-up photos of the real machines as reference.
  17. Yes, as a matter of fact I have removed the slats but I have kept no photographic record of the procedure.
  18. Hi guys, As promised, these are the pics from the construction of this model of mine ( https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235057671-grumman-f-9f5-panther-monogram-148-walkaround/ )built some 15 years ago…:
  19. Thanks a lot guys! Stay tuned for the forthcoming Work In Progress post (...the build may be 15 years old but still some techniques remain unaltered).
  20. I think I used Gunze Sangyo's H55 Midnight Blue as the base colour but I have kept no such record and I am not really sure after 15 years...🥴 For the silver I think I used Alclad.
  21. Hi guys, The recent Grumman F-9F posts of Gary Brandley and “crobinsonh” reminded me of my own build some 15 years ago which has not been presented to this forum yet – unlike most of my other ones... So, here it is: It took me almost 21 months and It was extensively reworked adding a lot of scratch-built details. BLACK BOX No.48023 resin cockpit set was the only aftermarket product used apart from the decals which is a combination of EAGLE STRIKE’s No.48114 and SUPERSCALE’s No.48-778 sheets.
