453rd Museum build 1/72 B-17F Academy with a possible friend!
rob85 replied to rob85's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
To be honest I felt fine for a few days a now feel like I have flu, jo my girlfriend has been pretty bad and struggled with her breathing to the point 111 called an ambulance but she’s fine now. Very hard to focus with it but just need to be ridden out, not much else you can do. cheers for asking and hopefully all staying safe and well! Rob -

So the progress is still slow, even though I’m off with covid I don’t appear to have had much time! I’ve been working from home (essentially doing all the computer stuff other managers don’t want to) it’s not that bad. any way, little bit more work on the nose section ribbing, is all I’ve really managed. obviously this was entirely planned but the ribs actually match up with the external pane lines…. What a fluke. now I’ve started on the other side. first time I’ve tried this kinda thing really and I think it’s going ok! Isn’t it?! Rob -
Hello there there cookie! Nice to have you along. Thanks Dave, appreciate it. I’ve just masked them and sanded all the seems so hopefully start thinking about paint. Cheers Greg. It’s a lovely kit steve I have no doubt you will completely do it justice. That sand is everywhere on the island and having been to the places the operated I can’t see how it wouldn’t have been everywhere! Glad you like it! so bit of work on this nothing too crazy just a bit of mask and preparation for paint, rear tail planes etc. few steps forward which is nice. Rob

Just catching up, she’s really taking shape! Some really nice work getting that nose sorted out, I should have spent a bit more time on my one. Rob -
Looking great with paint and decals on. Cunning work with that stand, I like that idea a lot, looks classy. Rob

An absolute treat Tim, really like this scheme and if it wasn’t for all the Malta and Middle East decals I have I would probably go for it! another great addition to the GB, thank you. Rob -

You never hang around with your builds do you. Looks fantastic, a great addition to the gallery! Rob -
Fair one, I always went with Tamiya for past build, so that would get my vote. Rob

Greg, I use Hataka paints at the moment, I bought their fleet air arm set and have to say I really like their colours. Your looks like it will need a little fading so the whole set might come in handy. I only brush paint I don’t spray so can’t comment on how they perform in that respect. the beau’s are coming along nicely though! Rob
