  1. I first saw this beautiful red Md80 when FIFA Flying Trophy was on a tour of the Caribbean last year 2013.. started in Jamaica and came all the way to Trinidad my home town.. She also made a stop in Guyana and Surinam.. This is a Minicraft Model kit, I took it apart, cut the rudder and flaps made the rudder (moveable left to right) and the flaps not moveable extended. The landing gear are metal purchased from ScaleAircraft Conversions. The decals were a combination of Nazca Decals, Authentic Decals and Flying Colors Decals.. The main Danish Air Transport "FIFA Flying Trophy" was done Nazca Decal..Cheers Gaston!!!! Any questions or comments please inbox me....Thanks enjoy.......
  2. Yes thats because its from Curacao north of Venezuela and the company closed in 2001 they reopened as Dutch Caribbean Ailines which didn't last long either till 2005, the next name was Dutch Antillean Express which ceased operations last year 2013..
  3. Hi Ray I used createx airbrush paints both the red and yellow.. the Yellow was mixed with other shades of yellow to get that effect.. I don't know much about Humbrol paints but I would like to see how they perform on the model..
  4. This is a 1/144 Boeing 727-200 kit I did as DHL, the decals were a mixture of Draw Decals 757 DHL decals and Nazca Boeing 727 detail decals.. I am going to do over a next DHL 727 with flaps metal landing gears and new engines.. would post that one in a new forum... Hope you guys enjoy this one!!!!
  5. Hi All I have been working at the airport in Trinidad since 2001... One of my favorite liveries in the Md80s comes from ALM a Curacao based Airline. Its known as Air ALM / ALM Antillean Airlines Antilliaanse Luchtvaart Maatschappij. In the mid 90s I grew up seeing this plane pass high over my house early after 6AM heading west whenever it was going Curacao..It was back in 2001 I got close up to this bird while working in the Airport.. sometime 2002-03 the livery changed at it was named Dutch Caribbean Airlines and then DAE I am not sure if they still exist... any way this was a Minicraft Models Md 80 that I did as ALM, The decals was a mixture of FC decal and Flying colors Md 80 detail sheet..The Registration I did was PJ-SEH.. The thing that made me like this livery one it was an Md80 and to the livery was kind of close to BWIA Sunjet livery.. in the sky I use to mistake it for BWIA but only looking at the buttom it didn't have the blue stripe on the rear like BWIA lol... Hope you guys enjoy it!!!
