  1. Hi Guys. Bit more work on Cockpit assembly, and subtle weathering. Pics are a bit bright so I'll try some more later. And when taped together Just the Gunsight and rear access panel to sort now, and onto the engine. Cheers for looking Paul
  2. Hi Guys, thanks for the comments about the Big Sin stuff. Looking forward to actually starting on the engine and cowls, but first must complete the cockpit. So been beavering away at it, and have completed assembly of the base plate. Doesn't look much in base colour, but 29 pieces of photo etch and 9 pieces of resin makes up the base plate assembly. Still have weathering and washes to add, and hopefully, the details will stand out a little more. Starboard side wall has had the first stages of paint. 5 colours so far. Bit more checking with pics for details needed, but starting to get there. Port sides not been touched yet, as careful planning for painting/building sequence is needed, hopefully, I'll start later this afternoon on it. IP is coming along nicely. Although there's a few delicate lever parts to bend, that's the job I'm working on at the moment. Don't know how much will be visible of the final product, but all covers will hopefully be open on the final build. Eventually I'll get to open the actual kit and see what it's like Cheers for looking, and enjoy whatever your building. Paul
  3. Hi Guys. Made a start on this one. Started with the cockpit assembly, all the resin bits have been tidied up (still a little more to do). that took most of yesterday. As you can see, detail on the side walls is impressively busy, even though most will be hidden away. Fit is good at the rear, mating very nicely, but the Starboard wall appears a 1mm of so too long, so will need a bit of fettling. There's 2 IP included, one with moulded on instruments and a flat one for the PE panels. Must admit I broke the control column in Half during clean up, but should glue back together OK, so no real drama, although a bit of swearing while finding the base on the patio. I'll start assembling today, and hopefully have some sort of update later. Cheers for looking, all comments, both positive and negative, most welcome. Paul
  4. Hi Guys. As some may have seen, I was going to build the Eduard 1/32 boxing, but wanted the engine cowling open to display the engine. During research into this, I found the Eduard big sin set for the revel boxing. Originally I was going to convert this to fit the eduard kit. But the revel kit is only £21, so Plan has changed. I'll still make the eduard Kit, but closed up in Flight. But not during this GB, as I dont think I'd have the time availible. So Heres a few shots and the start of Build 2. £21, a lot of kit for little cash. So this is the Big Sin set Qiuck shot of the detail on the engine cowling. To my eye's its detailed and so very thin, almost see through Couple of shots of the engine components. So thats the plan, If anyone wants particular shots of the contents, I'll happily post up the required content Cheers for looking Paul
  5. Hi Guys. Just to let people Know this project has been aborted. I have found a solution to open cowlings, but trying something else. So, new thread started Cheers Paul
  6. Hi LB. Are they on reversed, as they appear to have a angle cut into them, maybe for fuselage sides, or for matching wing panel lines. Could just be a optical illusion though. Paul Ps. Having my own problems, so understand the change from nice flat armour.
  7. Hi Guys, a quick question for you. I wondered if anyone has tried the revel 1/32 G6 upgrade kit from Eduard. It's the Big sin set as I want my Eduard model to have open engine cowlings, and the set provides what looks like a nice two part cowling and the support frame. Cheers in advance Paul
  8. Hi Guys. Been progressing this one, then can start on the 1/32 Eduard. A couple more small bits to add and detail painting to tidy everything up, Then It's decals and light weathering At least it looks like a Messerschmitt.. Now, wheres the Spitfire to shoot it down Cheers for looking Paul
  9. Stiff bristled brush, and stippled on. Takes a while to build up, but works. I do have some mottled masks for 1/32, and ushi rust mask set which I'll have a play with Paul
  10. Hi guys. Definatly having the panels open as far as possible, Got another couple of kits squirrelled away, that could possibly make a in flight version with same marking. I'll have to see how the time goes. Cheers Paul
  11. Hi Guys. Bit of progress, and a lot more experimenting. Always brush painted before, and thought it was about time I tried the airbrush out that I've been avoiding for ever. So, started on the underside. I really need to sort out paint colours, as I have very little aircraft specific paints (I'm predominantly a armour modeller), so used Citidel Fenrisian Grey, as to my eyeballs, it seemed a reasonable match. Next was the uppers, I messed up with overspray around the wing roots and lost my bottle, so hand painted the wing pattern freehand and stippled the fuselage camo. I'll work on it, as I'm not particularly happy. Also working on prop and undercarriage, but I'll save those for next update All comments very welcome Cheers for looking Paul
  12. It's arrived Amazingly detailed big daddy of their 1/48 kit. But, I think I'm going to have a love / hate relationship with it. First up is the Engine. I love engines and the supports, But you make a kit with a nicely detailed lump thats the correct scale and then cant have a closed cowl because of scale thickness. Even worse, you cant even have the engine fully removed because parts are needed to make a closed cowl model. I would have thought that Eduard could have provided a spare set of the important shared components, and a engine stand, to allow you to display both. I believe the 1/48 is the same. OK, rant over. I will have to decide on what I'm going to build and how it's going to be displayed, before starting. But looking forward to it Cheers Paul
  13. Hi Guys. Hope everybody is having a successful build. Bit of progress. Fuselage is buttoned up. good fit and minimal clean up required. The metal barrels are not the best position wise (tilted up), so will sort that out. Wing is on and fit looks excellent. Must admit to making a slight mistake, There are locating holes for the center line tank (which I opened) and others for the Upper wing bulges which I forgot. Fortunatly, The bulges are moulded nicely and sit tightly against the wing at the correct spot, so think I may have got away with it. Bit of clean up required But everything looks good so far. I'm definatly no expert with aircraft, but the Kit looks good and is a easy build. Cheers for looking Paul
  14. Damn you Hannants. 1/32 Eduard on the way. Paul
  15. Cheers Col. It's no Eduard Kit, that's for sure. Couple of hours this afternoon, and the 9 pieces of the cockpit are in and complete. added strips of 1mm masking tape to simulate straps. Exhausts are in and another piece for the lower rad area. Test fit of fuselage is excellent. More tomorrow Cheers for looking Paul
  16. Hi Guys. After success in the Blitzbuild, I thought I'd try this one. So after a troll through the local Shop, I got This (as well as Airfix/Hobby boss ones) Saw that no one else was doing a academy kit and thought I'd give it a go. So here's the box content With a nice bonus of metal Guns and Pitot Going purely OOB for this and hope I can interest a few people.
  17. Tamiya P204(f) Armoured railway Vehicle 1/35 Scale Hand painted in Acrylics.
  18. Hi Guys. Well I'm just tinkering ATM. I May do more, but going to call her complete. Especially as I have to cook a BBQ for SWMBO and her friends Thanks to the organisers and Hosts, and Looking forward to the next one if I'm not still in Australia working, although I may decide on a slightly smaller project. Cheers for looking Paul
  19. Hi Guys, Hope everyone's doing well, on this fine day. 3 More Hours work this morning Bit of fiddling with the base, but nothing much. Aerial Installed. Kit does not provide a cable to run from aerial to inside, so a quick raid of the spares box and artistic licence, First stage of weathering and white wash done, but more to go. And I better polish up the Rims for that extra Bling Cheers for looking Paul
  20. Thanks for everybodies kind comments. Kit is very good, I can see a few issues, but all of my own making. A few of the panels are miss-aligned due to rushing. But everything came off the sprue easily and There are some lovely rivet details. May even buy another one and take more time over it. Anyway, cant chat, as I have a Kit to Finish 😃 Paul
  21. Hi Guys. Progressed the build for 5 Hours today. Basic assembly is complete, and base colour applied. Couple of touch-ups and detail painting to do, and of course, the aerial assembly. Then it's on to decals and white wash, and final weathering. How it stands at the present time: Cheers for looking Paul
  22. Was going to Ask the same thing about the spray booth. Paul
  23. Looking good. Such a short one as well (the truck, not build time), Cant be much longer than a LWB Landrover Paul
  24. Hi Guys. Was going to post last night, but camera batt's died, and had no replacements. Sorted out this morning, so here's the progress from last night. Body work is installed and started a bit of weathering, although it will all be hidden. Good thing about building armour is that while paints drying, you can build another part. Turret is complete, minor filling required and some paint. Well I thought I'd better do something to the Tracks, so this is the base. As the model has markings for Eastern front, 1943. I'm going to do the wintery effects over yellow base colour. BTW, this is a lovely kit, for those that are interested. Good Fit and detail, and could be really nice opened up (Time allowing) So this is the first 8 Hours work, and be about the same today Happy Building Paul
  25. Hi guys. Its madness but I thought I'd try this tamiya kit. Had it in the stash for a while and thought I'd try it. 1145 start time. Doh, quite a lot of interior detail that I didnt know about. But I've started now. Its rude not to paint something you have made, so by 1400 I had this and by 1600 this: Still got more paint to splash around and a bit of weathering of the internals, but getting there. Kit comes with a couple of figures and rail tracks. I'm not attempting the figures, but will try to knock something up with the tracks. More later Paul
