  1. The only major change you would have to make for a non gulf war RAF buccaneer would be the wing tips. You need the longer ones which are also in the kit ( I'm away from my stash so can't check but I'm almost 100% certain) that and aerial fits and what you hang under the wings. Oh and if its an early RAF version be sure to use the flatter bomb door. There are some guys on here that actually worked on them so they are better placed to confirm/ correct that. There are some differences if you want to do a South African or Royal Navy version which is down to fuel tanks , pylons and weapon fits. Bottom line you are good to go for any RAF version but check your references.
  2. That's excellent info. Thanks for the link Dimitry πŸ˜€πŸ‘
  3. Hi all. Having trawled the Internet looking for photos on the RN 28 bomb all photos seem to show silver coloured weapons. Can anyone shed any light on whether the silver was for training and live weapons were another colour like white/green/grey ?
  4. Which I'm not. I've no excuse now . πŸ˜€
  5. Brilliant. Thanks Dimitriy. Looks like something between medium green and faded olive green.
  6. I'll check that You tube video out. That wouldn't be Spadeadam you're talking about would it ? Haven't been to Duxford in years. I didnt know it had gone stateside.
  7. Is the Hare in its origonal colours? I really do need to get down. The Warsaw pact stuff alone is well worth the visit..plus there's some real strange kit I've not seen before. Some great stuff there. Did I read somewhere there was the fuselage of one of 72 sqns wessex 5s there or did I just dream that ? Cheers MikeπŸ˜€πŸ‘
  8. Thats all good info thanks πŸ˜€. Looking at the build photos on the link I'd say the green is a faded olive drab? What do you think ? Now I've downloaded the instructions I'm going to have to get that Zvesda kit now !
  9. Thanks Mike that's appreciated. I can see from the photo you've posted that the undersides are black. Just need the upper surface. There's also a lot of interesting kit in the background too! Is that an MI 1 Hare I see on the right ? I'm only an hour away from WSM so I really have no excuse not to pop down too! Look forward to seeing the photos Lee
  10. Hi all. Can anyone give a definitive answer on the correct main rotor colour for a Soviet era MI 24V? The hobby boss kit would have you paint them black. Other kits suggest olive drab. Photos online are not very distinct as they always appear in shadow. Anyone able to help ?
  11. I Hope they've back engineered the canopy. The origonal was dire. I keep getting my 1970s issue out but can't face it.
  12. Brilliant ! I see one of the options is Bravo November. As I flew in her "down south " I'm certainly going to treat myselfπŸ˜€
  13. Silly question as it's early doors but does anyone know if it's new tool or the old incantation?
  14. I wonder if the 1600 release time will prevent the annual website crash?. Let's hope so.
  15. Three things of which we can be sure : The website will crash. There will be another Spitfire. It'll all be 1/48th scale.
  16. Great photos thanks πŸ˜€ I'd read somewhere that the Chinese F6 cockpits were a different colour to the soviet built Mig 19s?
  17. That's a great link. Thanks AndreπŸ˜€
  18. Evening all. Having got my hands on a couple of the KP Mig 19s I've been trawling the Internet for some good cockpit references. I'm aware that the Chinese J6 was a blue grey colour and that those used by some warsaw pact countries were a different shade of blue. But what of the Soviet aircraft? Any ideas anyone ?
  19. Well that makes it easy for me then. I'll do a phase 6 Matchcoat airframe. Many thanksπŸ˜€πŸ‘
  20. I've a model decal sheet which includes markings for the 2 Op Matchcoat airframes used by 3 and 4 sqns in 1984. One of the photos shows the 3 sqn Harrier fitted with Phimat and both have the spine aerial . I take it then on that basis that both had the phase 6 mod and could carry sidewinders?
  21. As an aside, if the recce pod was fitted would any ordinance be carried?
  22. That would be brilliant if you could find the photos. Do you have a timescale for the fit?
  23. Thanks Selwyn. So it's fair to assume the Air Commodore was speculating as I'm sure he wouldn't be aware of the work involved. I do remember the "Hardet" Harriers with the missile fit when I was at Stanley in 83 . Never occurred to me thar there was so much work involved. From previous threads you've commented on I take it the normal load in wartime would be 4 BL 755s/ 1000 lb/ sneb with no tanks ?
