  1. Numbers tend to be used as miliatary serials or some countries registrations, like the US, their registrations are an N then no dash, then 3 numbers and two letters. an example of a US registration is N272AY the N Means it's on the US civil register the 272 is its assigned number and AY is the airline code, some other countries use. numbers in there registrations, each country has its own system and it can get confusing, some countries have a letter prefix and then only numbers like China, B-2219 as an example and then some countries have a number in the prefix and the none, like Singapore, 9V-SYK as an example. Trust me it's not easy, but once you learn them, and it takes a while, they seem a lot easier.

Do you mean registrations, if so the civil ones start with G- because G is the country prefix for aircraft on the UK registry, the next part comes from the airline, such as G-ZB** is monarch and G-CEL* is jet2s older aircraft ( when they were channel express). After this the final letter is in alphabetical order of when the aircraft were delivered with, for example G-CELA would. have been delivered before G-CELS. that's how civil registrations work. Not too sure about miliatary though. although the air cadets tutors are G- aircraft as they are not owned by the RAF.

  6. Wow, everyone's lucky getting all this cool stuff, all I've got at the moment is the unmistakable whine of Airbus A320 family engines as an A319 flying the LHR-LBA. Gets established on the Leeds approach. Not exactly interesting is it
  7. I agree, the typhoon is better in almost every way, the only edge the raptor has is its looks, the raptor looks sleek, the typhoon looks like a flying triangle.
  8. Yes the tour was great, I got lots of photos, (only of the Vulcan though, the hanger is shared with 3 BAE hawks, they did not let us take photos of them) I would certainly reccomend doing it, and is cheap, my ticket was only a fiver( apparently I'm still classed as a child :/ )

  10. Hi, Today I went for a Vulcan tour at Doncaster, in the hanger there was the forward fuselage section of a 737, is this a real one or a mock up, if it's real, what registration did it carry in service, Thanks

Completely agree, but most people don't know about realism and it doesn't effect them, so to sell these films they make them more exciting and simpler by making, say all the German planes one type and colour( flyboys) or the Germans all look evil and there to be one German is always flying against the allies(red tails), but most people don't care or don't know, so unless we can educate most of the world about air combat, we will keep seeing this Hollywood trash:(
  13. Oh, I forgot about the German night fighters, yes a 30mm cannon could drop a Lancaster with ease, but then again would a .50 be any better against these aircraft, I'm not sure it would
  14. Interesting choice( I have definitely heard of this aircraft before and have definitely not just looked it up on Wikipedia, but hey I'm an expert on it now:) )
