  1. Thank you! A long and often tedious build, so happy to be done. Bill
  2. Many thanks for having a look and commenting! Cheers, Bill
  3. Many thanks! Having done this kit once, I doubt I will do it again. Good luck with those kits! Bill
  4. Thank you for posting this new release from Fantastic Plastic. Very pleased to see this subject finally in kit form after many decades of being neglected. A larger scale would be nice, but this does appear to be accurate to the original 1952 concept. Having done a semi scratch built version I probably will not purchase this kit, at least for now. Bill
  5. This is a gem! Congratulations on such a stunning build! Cheers, Bill
  6. Many thanks for having a look and commenting. I do appreciate the kind words! Regards, Bill
  7. Many thanks for the kind words. This is certainly a challenging kit that needs much work to make it look decent. Regards, Bill
  8. Many thanks everyone! In future, I would like to do a smaller 1/144 scale version with 3D printed parts. Bill
  9. Very well done - really excellent work on these! Cheers, Bill
  10. A 3D printed alternative to the ancient Frog kit is fantastic. The time and effort needed to obtain a decent result from the Frog kit is significant, a real struggle. I would much rather have a 3D option. Good luck with this project, I am following with great interest. Cheers, Bill
  11. Thank you very much for the kind comments! Cheers, Bill
  12. This looks very nice, especially the paint finish. Bill
  13. Thanks everyone for the comments! I have not yet found a good place to display this build, temporarily located in the front room with special permission from Ministry of Interior. Cheers, Bill
  14. If these tubes are no longer available from Plastruct, it might be possible to try some other styrene manufacturers or irrigation supply dealers. If you can find something close to the needed diameter, it can be very carefully cut and reduced or enlarged with an inserted strip. You could also try to duplicate the styrene sheet wraps in the Revell kit by using a thicker sheet and then fill the interior with expanding foam spray to give it some strength. I have not yet ventured into the world of 3D printing, but it seems that a tube could be printed, I have seen some others make entire 3d printed Saturn V rockets in various scales, including a giant 1/48 scale version. These are printed with full details and are very expensive. Hope this helps, please let me know if have any further questions. Bill
  15. Pete, This is very interesting so far, looking forward to the next steps in the build. Such creativity! Bill
  16. Thanks everyone for having a look at the photos and commenting. I will be posting more close up images, including some of the astronaut figures very soon. cheers, Bill
  17. Thank you Peter. My daughter in law worked with NASA at JPL in Pasadena, California. Perhaps she can eventually convince them to take this for display, Regards, Bill
