Great review. I'm debating getting one of these. It's a bit too big really in 1/32 and displaying it would be major headache for me. I really like the Hunter and l'm having no luck getting hold of the Academy 1/48 version. Decisions......Decisions. Chris

That's really nice. This was one of the first models l ever put together, many, many years ago; l think. Getting a bit hazy now............. Chris

Looks great; very high quality work and equally good photos. The A-7 is on my list to do. Chris -
Wow!That is very impressive. Chris

This is really good. It's great to see builds of these experimental/research aircraft. Especially ones of this quality. Chris

Ah yes, CV990's - our house used to be under the approach for Ringway's 24 runway (as it was named in those days); we could see the CV990's from miles away over Stockport pouring out black smoke. I'd love to see a WIP of a Coronado - beautiful airframes. Chris

Superb. How did you get that weathered look? One small point, and it's nothing to do with the model, which is fantastic. You have problems with dust spots on your camera's sensor. Chris -
Great work - liking this a lot. Chris

Navdoc, Narrowboat - narrow beam vessel (Max 7') used for leisure - and in many cases living aboard - on Englands canal system. Used to be of wooden construction in the 18th and 19th Century when the canals were for commercial use; but now usually built of steel. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/547763 This isn't my boat - I just picked a picture at random, but it shows a narrowboat, a lock and a canal. Back on topic before the mods tell me off........ Revell have made life a lot easier with the cabin windows by moulding them joined together in groups of 5; they do (surprisngly for this kit) fit very well. So I should be able to use the 'joining bars' as part of the detailing and maybe not have to glue the windows at all - we'll see. Not terribly authentic but should make my life a bit simpler; I'll take anything I can get with this build................ Thanks for looking. Chris

Yes, an odd scale. I'd be interested to see one placed next to the Airfix 1/72 version and see how they differ in size. Chris

Thanks Les. It's a challenge - that's for sure. I'm sure a more experienced modeller than me could get it done quickly; but I'll take my time. Hopefully it will turn out well. Given the age of the kit I think Revell have done a good job. It would be great to see a new tool of this but I doubt there is the market for it. Chris

Ok, actually managed to find some time to work on this, Had a think about how I want this to turn out and I've decided not to go with Revells option of open side and passenger seats. So I'm planning to get to something along these lines - http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/album/cockpits-26-interiors/p20894-avion-decollage-vertical-fairey-rotodyne-1957-l-7.html So, while I'm filling and sanding the engine nacelles/wings I've also started work on preparing the inside for a bit of detail. The existing detail needs removing - mainly what I guess is intended to be a luggage shelf. 1961 - Kit is nearly as old as me.............. There's no way I want to sand that back by hand so its out with the trusty Dremel. So inside of each fuselage half should look like this. Fortunately Revell supply a floor so I won't need to make one. All I need to do is fill the holes that were intended for the seats. That's all for now. Thanks for looking Chris
