Finally got this finished ,used bare metal foil for the canopy masks

Managed to get photo from dropbox off my phone on to imgur ,Anyway Tamiya king tiger ,used a PE zimmerit set ,didn't like that ,then used putty ,didn't look right so i took most of that off . Then the old stand by ,winter camo.Think i am going to give up modelling and try something simpler like juggling with chainsaws .

HAHA ,just glad someone can see it .

Hi ,took some photos of some RFI models with my phone ,they were put into dropbox ,it normally sends them straight to my computer . No luck ,managed to get them on to Google photos ,been trying to get them on to Imgur ,which is my normal way on using them to post on here . Can't seem to do that ,can i post photos straight from google on to here . Sorry if the answer has already been posted earlier in the thread ,put my head hurts and i can't find it .

Very interesting post and replies ,i like the P36 Hawk /Mohawk ,prefer it to the P40 .I wish there were more kits out there . Only managed to get together 5 1/48 kits 😀😀Planning to do two BMF ,a Finnish ,a RAF Mohawk ,the last one might be a Olive Drab USAAC ,of a French one .

Forgot to mention it came with a Eduard zoom interior PE ,so not so bad .

Hi ,thanks for the replies ,the faults i were referring to are the sink marks on the fabric covered fuselage ,a bit difficult to keep the detail . The title of the post was a sort of joke ,i lose all reasoning when i see a yellow winged kit ,i have managed to fight off the urge to get the Kittyhawk 1/32 Kingfisher kit .😀😀 Don't know why that is .

Hi ,just bought the above kit off ebay ,it was advertised as an Academy kit ,but AM markings were on it ,so that is neither here nor there . It is dated 2005 and the well known fault on the fuselage sides were present ,anyone out there who has built this kit ,any advice would be helpful . Also i understand the instructions are not all that clear .

Very nice ,got a few of them plus some Academy bubbletops and razorbacks in the stash .I have a decal sheet of Thunderbolts in SEAC markings from Hannant's i will get round to doing one day .

Got two 1/48 aircraft models on the go ,what i saying ,well these two i have used the Eduard photo etch kits for the cockpits . The kits are the Academy P36 and the Italeri A36 ,the seat harness are ok and make a great improvement ,used the kit decal for the IP in the A36 . The Academy IP i painted the IP white first then put the film and IP together ,it makes the dials stand out a little bit better . I find the instructions in the Eduard PE sets to be a bit vague sometimes .

Thanks for the replies ,had a look on ebay ,some people in Taiwan are selling Tamiya Acrylic 250mm thinners for £16 😠. Just bought some Ultimate Airbrush Cleaner on line .Is it worth trying to thin and airbrush Humbrol Acrylic ,tried in the past with their own thinner and it was a no go . That Tim rtd of Affinity Models once told me he has never heard of anyone having a good result airbrushing Humbrol Acrylic.

Hi ,just been to the Ellesmere model show hoping to get some of the above from Tim rtd of Affinity models ,he was all out and says there has been a problem getting any for months. Trouble at mill ,in Japan .Anyone got any ideas what i can use instead ,he suggested screen wash ,i have got some Xtracrylic thinners also Vallejo .

Cool ,while we are on the subject of Hurricanes sent to Uncle Joe ,i read somewhere that Stalin chucked hundreds of Hurricanes down mine shafts after the war ,to stop the Russian people knowing about all the aid Russia got from the allies . Sounds a bit far fetched ,there are plenty of photo of allied stuff in Soviet use.

Very nice ,got that kit and the La 5 on the go ,made a cock up of the La 5 s port wing ,lost all the detail ,built the rest of the kit to see if there were any other problems in store for when i get round to the LaFN .Might have to put the La5 in a crashed diorama where the port wing is covered in mud or water 😃

Thanks for the replies ,dug the Academy P38E out of the stash ,might get the other Academy kit where you have a choice of 4 models . Too be honest i was sick of the Revell ,it seems i had been working on it for ever .

Hi ,those of you who have been paying attention will remember i have a Revell P38 on the bench ,well i did it is filed in the bin now . First of all the original Richard Bong aircraft decals were crap ,got a set for a different plane from ebay and someone on here kindly downloaded the instructions for me . They turned out to be crap as well .Finally got some decals for Ill Buckaroo ,aircraft from Print scale ,first the main USAAF stars were too big ,and most of the others decals folded up on themselves and were impossible to use ,finally i knocked over my bottle of Sovaset ,so in the bin the model went . Life is too short for this ,i have a Academy P38 in the stash ,might get that out . Rant over ,happy ,hahahahahahaha modelling .
