[Airbus A320 Air New Zealand Rugby Revell 1/144]

Hi again, now with this quite unique aircraft. I liked so much the way it looked at Auckland I knew I had to build one someday. Gio Decals, which were a nightmare, and Model Master enamels. I did my best with the decals but at some stages I must confess I almost quit. Glad I managed to get through the storm though.

I am really impressed by your comments and thankful too. This is probably my favourite airliner and livery as well, and my sincere thanks to Gaston @ Nazca for developing these decals (to Ray @26decals too, great ones). The base is simply a photo frame with a printed runway on it (you can find them on a Google images search), glad to know it works. About weathering, it is hardly done at all in this scale; a subtle selective light gray panel wash over white, and a light brown when over grey. Some small oil leaks and streaks can be easily made with a fine brown pencil.

Hello again everybody. Revell kit + Nazca decals. White automotive paint, Alclad for the engines.

My father flew this one, LanChile only had three of them and one was lost in 1991 in a runway overrun accident in Puerto Williams, Chile (Patagonia). 20 passengers died.

It was an aircraft definitely ahead of its time, bringing by then unkown low-noise levels to air travel down here in south america. It performed extremely well in short runways in spite of having no thrust reversers as well.

Thank you all for your kind words. Those subtle lines were accomplished with weathering powders, in that case I think they are worth it instead of rescribing the kit.

My father flew this one so I have special feelings for it. I'll be posting some more of the ones he flew as well as some of my own history.

The Dc-10 has something wery powerful about its presence, I can't quite describe.

Hi folks, this one from my collection. Homemade decals, automotive paint.

LanChile leased a Laker Dc-10 in late 1980, then added four more from PanAm and Air New Zealand. We operated them until 1986 when they were replaced by the "all-new" Boeing 767-200. The Dc-10 was LanChile's first wide-body airliner, flying primarily on high density routes to the United States (Miami, New York, Los Angeles). CC-CJT was delivered new to Air New Zealand on 10.11.77, then started flying with Lan on 13.06.82 before being transfered to American Airlines on 17.06.86. It should be scrapped by now as far as I know.

Weird that there are decals available for the vf-62 in 1/48 but not in 1/72. I'd gladly buy one set
