A very sad day for the British aircraft industry. Robert
  3. Now that Hannants are showing it in stock, here is Trumpeter J-20. Great kit and easy to put together. Painted with Revell's Antracite. Just in case you are wondering the opening on the top is the braking chute equipment. Next one will be painted like the J-11s i.e. two tone grey. Must say it compares very well with the pictures that have been posted, wondering if Trumpeter had some inside information Robert
  4. Lets hope they forgot to install the cockpit. Also some larger photos Robert
  5. From the link on the first post you can see a made up model now. Robert
  6. Here is the page from Dragon's website Robert
  7. Nice set of photos. All that is needed is a Fury, Hurricane and Harrier added then you would have Hawkers finest. Robert
  8. Thanks for the lesson. Always a joy to see your builds and the finished article. Robert
  9. Received from Hong Kong yesterday. It is a lovely kit. The panel lines are very petite and sharp and well executed. Not sure how much information was passed to Trumpeter but it certainly looks the part. I have done a size comparason with the Revell F-22 so you can see it is a bit larger. There are no parts for the weapons bay which is to be expected as no photos have been shown with the weapons bay open yet. I suppose Trumpeter does not want to give out any secrets even if they did have the info. As you can see there are two sprues of the same but in different colours which is a bonus as I assume most modellers would only use one. There is also one sprue in white which is mainly for the undercarriage gear and doors. The canopy is in protective paper which I have not opened yet and also there is a small etch, not coloured, for aerials and seatbelts. The decal sheet is for the prototype and is well printed and in register with decals for the cockpit even though there is raised details there already. On with the pictures A very fine kit from Trumpeter. Lots of What if possibilties, wonder what it looks like in grey If anyone wants more picture let me know. Robert
  10. More details of the Meteor F.4 Revell's website I have not seen that scheme before. Robert
  11. Decal sheet as good as the regular boxing. Robert
  12. The first Matchbox kit I bought was the P-51D Mustang and I was amazed to see it in other markings other than the USA ones. As been mentioned their 1/76 armour series was excellent with the diorama base. The first one I bought was M16 Half track Robert
  13. Thanks for the compliment. Can't say I have seen the AIM-9X hanging under the wing, only on the wingtips and I do not think they can use ASRAAM as they have the AIM-9Xs. Robert
  14. I would say yes, it is not a bad kit at all. Robert
  15. I will be visiting the model shop tomorrow then, thanks Jonathan. Robert
  16. It has a picture of the GR9 but with markings as in the photo, so it is definitely a GR9. It is not he box art as on the Airfix site. Robert
  17. Hi, Saw the Airfix Harrier GR.9 starter kit in Modelzone at lunchtime and was wondering if it is the new version in the box. The decals are for this version. The price is £12.99 which leads me to think it would be the older version. TIA Robert
  18. Great story, can not wait for the next installment. Robert
  19. Its a pity that Airfix could not buy the moulds of Revell and issue it themselves with a separate T.7/8 conversion as they are going to do for the Valiant. Robert
  20. Great set of very useful pictures. Thanks for sharing. Robert
  21. Hamleys in London has the cheapest I have seen around at £35, better than Modelzone. I would buy more but am waiting till I can get them for £30. Robert
