  1. I know. When I first heard about it I thought it was a plug for Charlie Brooker's 'World of Stupid'. On the upside, it made me take note of (and subsequently order) the Squadron Haunebu which aside from being significantly cheaper is substantially superior.
  2. I returned to enamels last year in the form of Alclad Mil-Spec. I initially used them over a kit that had already been treated to a can of Halfords grey and they worked fine but as others have suggested they don’t really need a primer unless the paint specifies such (e.g. Black Base for Metals). I’ve zapped them onto bare plastic and they went down a treat.
  3. Great stuff! I managed to land one of the Heller Puma’s recently, still in its factory wrap, so will be following this thread for as many tips as I can pick up.
  4. Really nice model. I think this is the first model of this subject that I have seen. Would probably look great up against a Roman counterpart. Great stuff!!
  5. There's now one with a starting bid of £150 and a Buy it Now of £600!!!
  6. Nope! They'll have to wait until after I move house (again!)
  7. My plan will be to build this with a figure of B.J. Blaskowitz at the helm, having just stolen it from the Nazis on Venus!
  8. Oh... you just had to didn't you! My hand accidentally grabbed the mouse and clicked on "buy" causing my arm to go through an automatic PayPal authorisation process* *unfortunately frequent occurrence due to this site!
  9. I remember their outrage at GTA when it was released in 97 and then their apoplexy when Carmageddon was released the following year. But then I also remember their outrage at... well... everything...
  10. I'm not sure it is a re-box of the Squadron kit. The latter is 14" across and looked quite hefty on the video review while the Revell kit suggests a diameter of 20cm.
  11. And the inevitable eBay cash-in has started already with one kit currently at £116 with 6 days left and the word 'banned' now appearing.
  12. I've got the J and S and have ordered a C hopefully to be followed by a D next week. I am also waiting impatiently for the long nosed Phantoms.
  13. I'm just looking at my recently acquired HB N/AW A-10 which is an upper rear viewpoint, similar to the Tomcat above.
  14. Nothing today but a few weeks back I took delivery of a 1/48 F2B with "Brisfish" decals.
  15. Perfectly viable and in far smaller numbers than might be assumed. The wing based weapons and pylons on my 1/48 Tornado F.2 Prototype are attached using 1mm x 1mm neodymium magnets - 1 in the wing, 1 in the pylon. Though for the future I will look to increase the number of magnet pairs to 2 for extra strength. Trying to recall where I got mine from but they were a box of 100 for around £10 or thereabouts.
  16. Any news on this? Anyone know who actually owns the Xtradecal brand? They're printing some amazing sets in 1/72 but I'm baffled why they're not offering upscaled versions also. Not just the Tornado stuff but the sets they are producing for the Airfix Phantom would go great on the Hasegawa kits.
  17. Nonsense! Phantoms! We need more 1/48 Phantoms. We only have the Academy, Eduard, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Italeri, Revell, and Zoukei Mura... But i'd really love a 1/48 Buccaneer, Vulcan or Lancaster
  18. How about another 1/48 F-14? After all, there’s only the Revell, Italeri, Fujimi, Hasegawa, Academy, Hobbyboss and Tamiya kits available with just one other in the offing from AMK. Surely there’s scope for GWH to join the fray and add another couple of pipes and rivets?
  19. Good review though. I also like their cockpit sets. And their Star Destroyer accessories. And their Millennium Falcon upgrades. And... (gets wallet)...
