  1. The best ‘painted on effect’ I ever achieved was on a 1/48 F-4B in 1987 using airbrushed Humbrol gloss enamels, Microscale deacls, Decal Cote 1 & 2, another enamel gloss coat then a matt coat. Final result was a complete blending of the decals and surrounding paintwork.
  2. Hi folks! Does anyone know of an aftermarket manufacturer that makes a 1/24 seated RAF pilot, preferably with oxygen mask on, for a Hurricane build I’m working on? Any help would be appreciated. Many thanks! Nocool
  3. Hi folks! Just wondering if anyone knows who stocks Fab Scale resin products? I found details on Scalemates of some aftermarket they make that I would like to acquire including two 1/48 jet radar sets, but there’s no links in the marketplace and no direct links to the manufacturer either. I did try Lucky Model since they have stocked a few Fab Scale parts in the past but they said they can’t help with the sets in question so I’m back to square one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks all Nocool
  4. There’s also ‘Mirror’ by Stuart Semple https://culturehustle.com/products/mirror
  5. It’s probably forlorn but I hope they release a turned metal engine and booster set for this 🙄
  6. Does indeed! I was hoping someone would produce a radar/radome set for this 🙂
  7. No shortage of high quality aircraft kits? Are you kidding? I mean there are literally no F-14 Tomcat models, period! None! Whatsoever! And who has even thought of making an F-4 Phantom? I had to scratch build mine from an old plant pot and toilet paper. Come on model manufacturers, step up will ya? 🙄🙃
  8. Build threads are a jinx for me. Whenever I start one up the kit barely progresses never mind gets completed. So I keep what little building I do under the radar until it’s almost done then I’ll Jack-in-a-box with photos and then a ‘ready for inspection’. The above is a rare purchase for me having shed most of my stash over the last year. I’m very slowly and stealthily working through my shelf of doom. As for the Eagle, I also remember the die cast toys with fondness. Made by Dinky, I had a few. I eventually managed to get hold of the winch version just so I could swap in the passenger pod since it was the only version to be painted white, all the others were a psychedelic metallic green or blue. I also had a few of the Airfix Eagles (still have one unmade). Most of which went on to suffer an ‘Alan Carter landing’. I was delighted when Round 2 launched their 1/72 series which are beautifully accurate. I really hope they’ll ‘Round off’ the fleet with the Cargo Eagle. Might even inspire me enough to build my launch pad kit 🙄
  9. That’s where I got mine. As for comparison with the 22” kit I’m guessing this will be… smaller…? 😜
  10. Indeed! It’s been a while since I watched it but I always wanted an accurate 1/72 kit of the iconic ships and this is another I can finally scratch off the list. All I need now is for Round 2 to (hopefully) release a 1/72 version of the Cargo Eagle and then my set is complete. Especially since I also have the 1/1 scale Comlock and Stun Gun… pew… pew…!
  11. 1/72 Space 1999 Eagle 4 with Lab Pod and Spine Booster
  12. Sorry but the weathering on that coffee is just not realistic.
  13. That’s the one! Plus it was 1/12 not 16. Can’t tell my scales anymore 🙄
  14. I remember those. Released by Italeri in 1/16 scale if I remember correctly. Always wanted one.
  15. An angled deck Midway/Coral Sea would be nice especially in ‘big’ scale. Never really seen much in the way of post WWII carriers in 350
  16. I just checked their site and they're available... but not for UK orders it seems... no option to order if UK based. Gutted. This is the only scheme I wanted to build. 😞😢
  17. Very nice looking build and really like the lighting! Also intrigued to see an F-35A in Lakenheath colours. Hopefully someone will release a decal set to fit the new Tamiya kit.
  18. I’m fine with this and similar releases. Aside from introducing new people to the hobby the range might help to fund other projects going forwards. I liken it to a favourite company that produces other subjects that I’m interested in but invest a lot in smaller scales and even in things I might consider ‘toys’. A ‘lot’ of people buy these and that revenue supports the development of the larger kits that I ‘do’ want to buy.
  19. Ooooh…no… we’ve moved from news to ‘minutiae’ again 😞 Can someone please wake me up when we’re back on news again? Ta!
