And there was me thinking that this had vanished. Like "an old oak table".

Good job I found that complete set of Tamiya acrylics (including rattle cans) gathering dust in a moving box a few weeks back and I'm glad I just managed to land a full set of the Tamiya Panel Accent colours including a spare Black.

Just received my sets for the F-16D and they are real special so will be ordering the above for my AMK kit. Really looking forward to see what their planned F-4, F-14, 15 and 18 parts are like.

Opposite where I am unfortunately. Had to go to town yesterday for prescriptions and there were only four people wearing masks. I was one of them. I don’t care how daft I look in one if it helps protect others and myself I wear it. Full stop. I do wonder though what it is about some people’s attitude and inability to take personal responsibility and behave accordingly. I’ve always been used to this approach whether through work or even my hobbies like flying and diving where good judgement and self discipline and reliance are essential. I think what really kicked it in recently was seeing the evidence that MacDonalds had reopened - the wrappers scattered along the various country lanes that I was walking by people who have no sense... of anything it seems.

Is that why you moved to France?

Evidence of this months foraging... Elgoo Mars 3D printer, the baseplate (primed but not painted yet) for my custom face mask, 400 of those tiny painty sticky thingies along with 400 precision tipped cotton buds (and because these weren't labelled as model kit supplies they were around £5 each batch as opposed to a tenner for ten pieces ), a Winsor & Newsome Series 7 000 brush and finally the set of Tamiya Panel Line Accent colours since I was struggling to get on with my AK's, Migs and Florrys. Next month should be a Spitfire month!

This thread is beginning to resemble BBC HYS.

Hoping it's the 1/48 Lancaster that was suggested last year.

1/48 - Mil Mi-24 "Hind" family by Kitty Hawk - in project

I know. Their list of goals is starting to resemble my build goals. So far this year I have completed half the cockpit of a 1/48 Tornado. My plan in January was to build by the end of the year a fully armed and operational battle station that would bring order to the galaxy.- 50 replies

Y-Wing 1/48 resin model [WIP]
Nocoolname replied to StevenBills's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
I'd love to have a 1/48 Y-Wing (and B-wing for that matter) and did at one point look into the feasibility of building one from styrene sheet and strip but it was a bit beyond me. That said, the combination of my Silhouette and now the Elgoo certainly offers the possibility of creating a mixed media At-AT in 1/48. That is, if I can find correct scale plans... -
Since my main/bulk kit and accessory purchases are being held off until next month for the Eduard and GWH releases I had intended just to stick with a few auxiliary supplies including: Set of 6 Tamiya Panel Line Accent 400 microbrushes 400 micro cotton swabs Sanding sticks Face masks I was also gearing up to test-run a series of detail parts through Shapeways, namely 1/48 versions of the Fox Hunter, Blue Fox and Blue Vixen radars and some F-14 details not covered in any of the existing AM sets. But decided instead to buy an Elgoo Mars and try printing them myself.

Y-Wing 1/48 resin model [WIP]
Nocoolname replied to StevenBills's topic in Work In Progress - SF & RealSpace
On the basis of what I've been watching here I decided that instead of throwing another couple of hundred quid at Shapeways I'd buy myself an Elgoo Mars and start doing my own parts. My plans are nowhere near as ambitious as yours, just looking at adding detail parts to existing kits and already have the models built and exported as STL files. That said I did get as far as creating an entire model (13" Eagle Transporter) and learned a lot around the design approach, material tolerances etc. I was close to buying a Form Labs Form 1 which at the time offered the only realistic option for SLA printing at home but at over £2000 it was too much for what I was planning to do with it. But from what I can see above, the Mars offers a similar output to what the Form 1 used to but at only £230. That's a lot more sensible for what I have in mind, namely 1/48 radars and other detail parts for my aircraft that are not produced by existing vendors along with interior and other details for my Space 1999 and other Sci-Fi kits. -
Ah. The 'drawers of despair'. I have the same, all crying out for attention. But then I trip over the 'box of disgust' and out spills the horrors of builds past when my skills at recognising a decent kit let alone being able to build one were definitely in their infancy. There are aircraft in there that aren't even the shape of aircraft, let alone the one they were meant to portray. Nonetheless, progress!

I gave up trying to manage my build/buy ratio years ago, especially since the introduction of a loft and the concept of 'you really must buy it at 'that' price' to the equation has led to the creation of a whole new branch of modelling mathematics. Such was the case when I ended up with more Tornado ADV's than I had scheme's for and placed an embargo on any further purchases until I accidently acquired, a short while ago, 'another' Eduard 'Farewell Tornado' kit at a 'relative'* steal of £44. *relative to some of the silly prices I've seen recently at least including one site with a BIN listing of £150 ono.

A litre bottle of 99% IPA from Amazon delivered just now as my existing supply was starting to run dangerously low. Also from Amazon, an Airfix 1/48 Ju87R-2/B-2 Stuka delivered Sunday that had the box ruined by having the mailing labels attached directly to it and through being handled without any protective wrap. A second Airfix 1/48 Ju87R-2/B-2 Stuka delivered earlier today, that was meant to replace the one above (which was supposed to be collected at the same time) and be in protective wrapping to keep the box from being damaged. Unfortunately this too was delivered much as the one above. And they didn't collect the first. Apparently that's left to a different courier - Hermes - who haven't arrived as yet and require me to print a return label using printing supplies I don't have. Presumably I should have ordered these... via Amazon, when buying the items I didn't think I'd have to return due to their carelessness. Amazon. Providing a 5 star all over the place customer experience as usual.

My order for Mi-24, and Mig-29 parts took around 6 weeks from shipping to delivery in the UK. The international postal machinery has really taken a hit because of recent events and I'm trying to factor that in when weighing up my orders. That said I was delighted by the products when they arrived along with the news that they are working on putting out parts for the F-4 Phantom, F-14 Tomcat and F/A-18 this summer. The downside is that I've just put the brakes on the work I was doing on the cockpits of an F-4 and F-14 because if the parts are similar to those for the Mi and Mig then I definitely want them gracing my current builds. The upside is that the parts should look great.

Sorry Racetrack, you may be out of luck for the UK at least. Only Acreation Models (defunct now I think) made a set - two in fact, one version for the First Contact and another for Nemesis version of the ship. I've seen some of the latter listed on the US version of eBay if that helps? Just means you'll have a bit of a wait on the shipping front unfortunately.

The weather has been great, even with the occasional bursts of rain and thunder. I've managed some really good walks which have helped with my MH. Only downside has been the effect on my hobby, especially painting. Past couple of days in particular has been a real pain in the airbrush with even my normally sturdy enamels struggling to flow despite additional thinners. Hey ho!

Mine was the same the other day. Thank god for aircon at the push of a button.

I generally just go for a subject that really takes my fancy, regardless of theme. Because my build rate is glacially slow it means that I'll have a few kits on the go at once so that when I run out of steam on one another can be used to give me a boost. As for stash management, the more common stuff goes or gets built first with everything else kept for building for the day when my skills are worthy of them.
