  1. To be honest, I'm waiting for actual daylight tomorrow to take a proper look. I've had a look at some more of the parts - the main part of the seat doesn't look too fancy and the pilot looks quite small to me but I really need the daylight to take a better look.
  2. Has anyone done a review of the Eduard 'Space' sets yet? I've yet to see any up-close pictures of them unlike the Quinta sets. I'd really like to be able to see photos of the finished article before buying.
  3. I think it's a great looking kit so far and I'll do a further unwrap tomorrow or Weds when I've got more time. I'm mostly surprised that the box is 'roughly' the same size (from what I can recall) as that for the F-35. My only other 'bug' kits have been the large box Hasegawa F/A-18F and Kinetic F/A-18D and the 'mahoosive' box Eduard Superbug. I'm glad I got this since I've been looking for somewhere to house my Fightertown VX Vampires decals.
  4. Hmm... I'd say it's more a case of me being in the kit's possession
  5. She said to tell you that her skin is 'unique'. Luxurious even. Not quite the 'pebbly' of some manufacturers but not the 'shiny' of Hasegawa. Somewhere in between. I'd say pretty close to Tamiya's F-14.
  6. Here you go. Just landed today. I was right about that box...
  7. Oh no. That hit me like a bolt. On top of an already bad day/week.
  8. Exactly what Dave said. The value of Roman Citizenship was also what attracted auxiliary troops to the service in spite of their lower serving pay. There were also the bonuses (Donativum) issued by various Emperors to encourage loyalty and curry favour with the legions.
  9. There's something wrong with the box too. It looks way to boxy to be an accurate box. I really don't know what they were thinking.
  10. Haven't tried this yet but have a similar concern for my current F-14 build so I was actually going to try and do things in reverse order (so to speak) - mask the canopy as normal and prime and paint the frame then once completely dry, mask around the frame that surrounds the glass to be tinted (using the residual masking tape that surrounded the original window mask) so that only the latter is exposed and 'then' airbrush/paint the tint. Once dry, carefully remove the masks and 'hopefully' a nice crisp tint in the midst of a nice crisp frame. Well that's the theory at least
  11. My dad keeps trying to convince me that I said "Yea, just throw em on the tip" to my original Palitoy Millennium Falcon, X-Wing, figures along with my 1/450 QE2 and award winning build of a 1/48 F-14B VF-111, while I was away at uni.
  12. I'm also banking on my Meng home insulation (as my kits have now become) ahead of the HB release.
  13. I was hoping they'd go straight for the long neglected FG.1/FGR.2.
  14. I have both and for some reason the Sparmax has proven far less problematic. The Ultra feels a bit 'sticky' while the Sparmax shoots straight from the (airbrush) box. At least it did last time I was able to use it (about 8 months now). That said I also have an HS Evo which has been ok though I traded in my Ultra for an Iwata Custom Micron for that extra bit of pezaz. At least, that was the plan.
  15. Frankly anything that didn't require the Hubble telescope to see, unlike their current crop of kits.
  16. If only Kinetic just accidentally decided to make a new tool 1/48 Buccaneer... You know... by accident
  17. If it's just the old MPC kits then it's an '...mmmph..' from me. New stuff would be good, especially given R2's pedigree with large scale sci-fi kits.
  18. Is this the same Squadron Models that produced the large Haunebu II flying saucer?
