  1. Thanks Darryl Yes that little bugger doesn't say much but he always has his nose stuck in things and gets in the way now and then. Take care, Lloyd
  2. Looks great, been on the front line for a bit. Lloyd
  3. Thanks neil The tracks are all assembled but got side tracked on some other projects. Will eventually get back to this one. Lloyd
  4. Finally got back to this one with some black primer. I think this will be Black, Olive Green and dark yellow for the final camo scheme. Something like this 1/16 T-72B I did a while back. Don't know if it's an authentic scheme but I like it.
  5. Rye Field Challenger and Trumpeter T-72A both in black primer. Some touch ups in spots then on to the NATO Green for the Chally and Olive Green, Dark Yellow and Black for the T-72. Probably not happening today though. That gnome isn't helping much either, he just likes to critic.
  6. Viper That looks more like WOW, what a job. No, I'm not going to try it, mine is just plain NATO Green. Lloyd
  7. Thanks robw Thanks Phil Thanks viper Too late to try applying the thermal cladding on the turret and upper hull now. It sure does look different though. I wonder what one would use to make it in 1/35, kinda fluffy looking. Thanks Ivan Lloyd
  8. Thanks John Thanks Vaastav Thanks Phil Thanks Viper It's coming along, not quite there yet. Lloyd
  9. Looks great, well not just great, pretty awesome. I have one in the Navy Blue scheme and I have been thinking of a second in the FAA scheme. Yours is an inspiration so I may just start the second. Lloyd
  10. This may eventually be a Challenger II TES but at the moment it's a WIP. Not even a main gun yet. Lots of poster tack holding things together at the moment. Tracks are assembled, easy-peasy, even with indy links and they are really flexible. Hope that doesn't change after painting.
  11. Starting to look like a Magach now. Needs some track work yet and some weathering on the running gear and wheels. Then some dust ala pigments and call it done. Back to the Challenger II TES from there.
  12. Thanks Bandit It's easy to get carried away with colors but you are right, if it looks ok then it is fine. Anyway I consider this done so I guess it is ok, lol. Lloyd
  13. Ozzy Yes I'm sure the C2 tanks had a/c. I meant the cruiser turrets must have been toasty around Japan. Lloyd
  14. Thanks Ozzy Sort of like the coating the Japanese used during WWII on the turrets of their 8" gun cruisers to reduce the temps inside. Must have been like an oven in there and no a/c. Lloyd
  15. Thanks Ozzy They look just a little dusty. That's some kind of funny coating on the turret. What is that? It would be a job to create that now all the goodies are on the turret. Lloyd
  16. Here it is in a Sinai Grey color. Now for some work on the guns and tools, some clear coat, decals, light weathering and call it a wrap Some of these pics have a greenish cast, it's not green. I'll take some outside photos later.
  17. Robw Not odd at all, that's when you get to see all the "oops" and goofs. Maybe I will get some white on this later tonight. Lloyd
  18. It's all NATO black today. Next up some white highlighting and then a custom mix of IDF Sinai Grey. Maybe have this done this week after all, maybe.
  19. Geez, my eyes are all blurry but it does look good, I think, that is if I can find it, the camo works. Lloyd
  20. Another nice job and I like the chipping, looks like it ran through a bramble patch and got scratched up, haha. That's a different camo scheme, like it. Lloyd
  21. Looks like you have been busy this weekend. Coming along good Rob Lloyd
  22. UPDATE ON TRACKS Rye Field calls for 87 links per side, a total of 174 links but they only give you 168, short 6. My model only took 79 links per side for a total of 158 so you end up with 10 spares. With 79 per side the tracks are fairly loose, no sag as they are live tracks with 3 return rollers Obviously that's a typo in the instructions so beware. Funny they included a correction sheet in the kit showing 3 or 4 errors but didn't mention the tracks.
  23. Thanks John I wasn't going to get the pe slat package as I don't like pe that much and the plastic looks not too terrible. Those pe slats look like a real torture test to assemble, no thanks. I started on the tracks last night and after assembling the first 13 links realized I had the tie bars between links upside down so those links will have to be hidden on the top track run. They are glued together and they are amazingly flexible but they won't come apart now. I'll start fresh this morning and make sure they are right side up, dammit. RFM calls for 87 links per side which is 174 total but there are only 168 links in the kit. Fortunately there are side skirts so if they don't join at the top it will not show. Maybe it's a typo, hope so. Lloyd
  24. Thanks speedlimit Thanks Sleepwalker Shouldn't be too hard to paint, the side skirts and slats are held on with poster tack at the moment so they come off for painting. Lloyd
