  1. Thank you for positive comments it's nice to know how others see your work. regard's John
  2. welcome to my latest project a Tamiya 1:32 F4 phantom II on a base of an aircraft carrier .The plane is painted in the warlords colour scheme , I found this kit to fit together really well . the catapult was made from plastic card and elastic cord . I took a few of the picture's by putting the base on a hedge and getting the sky as a back ground it seemed to give it some realism.
  3. yes it is the prototype shape but the wings and tail have been cut, also the main under carriage has been completely rebuilt . on the prototype under carriage lifts into fuselage and on the raptor it lifts into the wing
  4. This is my attempt at the F22 ,it is made from the testors 1:32 F22A ATF witch is an appalling fit. I made the engines from plastic tube and fan blades from evergreen strip , air ducts from plastic card bomb bays and missile bays main under carriage bays also from plastic card and evergreen strip. the canopy is incorrect and the nose is to long engine ducts and nozzles also have issues. I plan to correct these points when I build another one.
  5. This is my attempt at a Ju88 G6 SN2 Experimental plane, it is the revell 1:32 kit with the AIMS G6 conversion. I cut my own masks for the hard edge look to the paint job, I had terrible problems with the gloss coat drying the model is still bit sticky even now. The actual build of the model was very good, the diorama is David Mooney's
  6. Thanks everyone for your help and comments I will take them onboard and try again. regards John.
  7. The acrylic varnish I use is airfix with X-20A Tamiya thinner's ,also enamel thinner's is paragon enamel thinner's. The plane was sprayed four days ago and is still pretty sticky I think I am going to leave it well alone for a while,I just wondered If there was some sort of activator that would cure it faster Iam still learning the hard way about spraying, trial and error. THANKS John
  8. With acrylics they seem to dry before they hit the project and also clog the gun up in my case. Thanks for your help.
  9. I have been spraying my model of a Ju88. I thinned the varnish 20/40 oil based, but it doesn't dry holding the plane leaves imprints of finger prints. Has any one else had this problem and could you let me know what you did to correct it. thanks John.
