  1. having had to give the be2 a rest for a while, as it feels more like a limited run kit with no location points and bad instructions, i'm having a go at my camel. thing is the pe is great, but how can i get the push rod tude to look rounded? was thinking of pva but i'm not sure how well the paint will stick, or gel super glue. any ideas? jeff
  2. i remember seeing these a few years ago, but i cant find any. i have the academy tiger that i want to do the full nterior and these would set it all off really well. any info would be cool. jeff p.s they were for the spare periscope lens boxes and first aid kits and what not.
  3. no problem bud, got the full interior academy tiger in the stash, might have to dig it out, if i can work out how to do individual link tracks
  4. like that bud, and i really like how you have displayed it. jeff
  5. reminds me of when i worked at RAF Leeming. the flight sgt in the tower had some photos he took of the sultan of omans air force. young pilots hot dogging by flying jaguars in between hangers and through the hangers. wish i had some copies. jeff
  6. looks great. almost like something out of tron. i want one now as well.
  7. still looking good, but you are not going to get much modeling done with that x box controller. put down call of duty. lol
  8. looks great bud, see what you mean about changing the tracks. not positive but i'm sure early tigers didn't have ice cleats on the tracks. but she looks stunning. might have to get myself one. i take it she is 1/35? jeff
  9. guys, i only use tamiya paints(they are easy to get here) but i need to find colours for doped linen, i've been using deck tan which looks about right, now i need to find pc10 which i think is an olive drab sort of colour? any help would be cool. jeff
  10. when i did my King Tiger i used tamiya paints then overcoated it with hairspray. its all holding up well. i just used cheap oils from the works(i think). any sort of dirty colour will do, all you are really putting on is a type of filter. next time you are near anywhere with heavy equiptment, take a few pics, nothing better than seeing real weathering. lots easier than trying to imagine it. jeff p.s the results are really quick and very effective. i'll try and get some close up pics later, got to go easter family visiting.
  11. the colours look great, really nice. dont know if you know this technique for the big flat surfaces, but this iswhat use in 1/16 rc tanks. use small blobs of dirt couloured oil paint, and i mean small, along the top of the flat surfaces and with a soft , flat brush loaded with white spirit drag it down in the direction of gravity. be very subtle and it looks just like a dirty, rainwashed surface, but i would practice first. you could also try flooding the surface with spirit before you add the oil paint. dont know if that helps, or if you already knew it. jeff
  12. they are great bud, dontt know how i couldnt find them. have to say that the roden kit, while beautifuly modeled is a pain to build , with no positive attachment points and the instructions a stunningly vague. jeff
  13. brilliant fozzy, never thought of using yougurt pots as asource of plastic. the detail is astounding. jeff
  14. no problem bud, think i might baulk at trying to do double flying wires though, unless i can work out how to make some sort of hook to separate the thread. jeff
  15. guys, as you might have seenon my earlier post, i;m building the 1:48 roden be2c. the prob i have is that i cant get a good cockpit shot. the only ones i can find are for the raf RE 8. is there much difference between the two cockpits? jeff
  16. that is mental masking, will look great when all the tape comes off, cant wait.
  17. very nice, looks like he has the weathering spot on. bring on the next one. jeff
  18. cheers guys, looks like this is going to be a big, hard project. something else i was thinking is the possibility of somehow getting plans and scratch building. ships can't be that hard, right jeff
  19. 27 cm isn't too bad,not huge, but not so small that my eyes will fall out trying to build it. might have to get a cheap resin kit first to play with as i havent built a resin kit before.
  20. roughly how big is 1/700? i saw the wsw review and it looks a nice kit, but i'm sure i saw a penny propped up next to it and it looks tiny. i know she was a revenge class ship, so wondering if i could find another shipp and adapt it. not holding my breath though lol
  21. does any one know of a kit for her? or a sister ship that i can modify? my Great uncle William was a MEM on her and died when she was sunk in Scapa Flow. The only ones i have seen are tiny ones forwar gaming. any help would be cool, and if i can find one i will be picking brains as i usually build afv's and aircraft. jeff
