  1. Thanks for the info. While I am waiting on the new RA Hawks, are they new tool or just new decals? Also noticed at Hannants that the Revell F-15E is being reissued. Which is great as they've been like hens teeth on fleecebay! I gave in and got the Academy SJ with figures version.
  2. 1/72 RAF Phantom F35 Lightning Tornado GR1/4 new/retool 1/48 Cold war/modern armoured vehicles (Challenger, Bradley, M1 Abrahms, T72/80/90, BDM, BMP etc) 1/48 Harrier new tool (all marks) New Tempest in all scales
  3. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-28763911 Recon only
  4. Do you put any kind of tubing into the model to receive the rod? Or just straight in with some epoxy? I had thought about metal (brass/steel?) rod into piping, but no idea on sizing.
  5. Completely ballsed this up Fecking Humbrol Clear went cloudy, likely because of the humidity. Bright idea was to put in the oven for a minute or two (had recently been using it so thought why not while it's cooling) as no radiators on. Trying Humbrols suggestion to get rid of the cloudiness. Guess who forgot it was there!?
  6. I'm doing the GA Q version. I've ended up using a blend of kit decals and decals left from the revell mkXVI spit. And liberal doses of revell decal soft. It's all I have in at the moment. Still hasn't put me off doing another later
  7. Just starting the finishing touches to what has been a very pleasant build. However, those decal roundels, they for the model or repairing punctures on my bicycle? Jeebus they're thick!
  8. My Lynx canopy was cracked out of the box, rather than get a replacement think I'll do similar
  9. Bit of a nightmare, built for a friend, I didn't realise how little of the engine could fit under the cowl as he didn't want the engine open. Painted with Humbrol rattle cans (pre airbrush ownership) Had a glue accident, tried to make it look like battle damage! Also masking tape tore off part of the decals on the wing. The sixes applied to the yellow band stuck immediately and I was unable to reposition, no matter how much water I put on and blurry shot!
  10. Not all photo etch present as I have crap fine motor control. There's one exhaust pipe missing each side, gone to the great carpet monster, once I discovered I couldn't fit the cowl on with the fully assembled engine. So in attempting to rectify this, the engine exploded and also lost a pitot and lost a bit off the tailplane stabiliser. Still, managed to get an aerial on, thanks to the Mrs and her hair Used the scheme 6/JG 52 Husum Germany 1940. First time i've used an air brush is on this model. Couple of my pics came out blurry, here be the ones in focus!! Forgot, stretched sprue used for the antenna post as the original also went to the great carpet monster!
  11. Got profipack and weekend edition on the way. Want to do the sharkmouth and a soviet scheme. Looked into buying overtrees from Eduard, was going to cost about £20. The profipack was cheaper!
  12. Ive just ordered one these myself, watching with interest.
  13. Thinned how? Ive used it straight out the bottle over vallejo model colour, revell aqua and humbrol, and slightly thinned with water. No issues.
  14. There's a humbrol weathering powder tutorial on YouTube that covers rusting a landrover exhaust (it's part 2 I think). Perhaps you could watch and adapt that?
  15. Bit more of an update, nearly there! Unfortunately this jackal crew ran into a scouse branch of the taliban
  16. Thanks for that. I'll be using these pics for reference when I come to paint the rest of the soldiers.
  17. Yeah please if you don't mind. I was working from a crappy picture, the dark brown looked like black. My mate just gone on exercise with his Reserve regiment. See if I can get some photos, apparently they have all mtp kit issued. No more mixing mtp with soldier 95. The exercise seems suspiciously similar to a world event...
  18. Nice build, everything fits together very nice. Have to paint as you go as bits in hard to reach places otherwise.
  19. I think the weakness has been exacerbated by me plonking the bugger down a wee bit too hard Its just had a matt mist coat on top, but the wind has picked up. Might get the upper fuselage nicely dirtied up. Taking ages Doesn't help I'm trying to do this, a jackal, read red storm rising and looking forward to starting the warrior kit and lynx.
  20. I've been well lucky in a recent eBay auction. Complete Airfix Patrol and Support group for £13 delivered so I've more to add to the Jackal kit, and I have the Warrior too Have to seriously look at some kind of diorama now.
  21. Bit on the slow side, some touching up of paint needed along the way. Current progress:
