  1. Hi guys. Building the revell 1/48 tonka using xtradecal set for za470 circa 1984. I have a query on intake ramps before i fix their position.

What position would they be in with the aircraft parked up? I know at some point they were fixed in position but not when. Also in 84 would the kruger flaps be in use and how would they be positioned when "parked".

    Cheers

PS LRMTS should have been fitted by then too yes?

  2. That looks rather nice, and from the previous post not too difficult to light up if one was that way inclined.

Wonder if Moebius will ever release a set of 1/72 Vipers and Raider in a box rather than 2 of each?

    Cheers,

    Warren

I don't see why it shouldn't be possible. If the Raider boxing follows this format, each viper is on it's own sprue and the clear parts for each are on separate sprues.

  3. Rest of the clear parts are shoddy too. Loads of flash on all the parts, wing lights are a mess.

Will have a look for an airfix kit. Might still end up building the airfix kit in an alternative scheme.

I've another revell in the stash, will have to check the clear parts on that one.

  4. PS I´m still in Buccaneer Midlife Crisis and Personal Harrier Madness so Super Hornet only at planning stage

I've hit a snag with my Bucc, was masking up to spray the steel on wing leading edges and snapped the resin refuelling probe. I cannot find it anywhere and I don't know at what point it happened, I'll have to use the plastic part :crying:

  5. Building the Revell GR1 in Op Granby scheme, however hit a wee snag with the LRMTS pod. The clear plastic part appears to just a vague triangle shape and doesn't even conform to the fuselage, or the rest of the pod.

Is there an AM replacement or another (cheap) kit that does this better? Tried googling but only thing showing is an ended ebay auction.

  6. Please note that the BL755 was NOT used by ANY British aircraft during the 1st Gulf War. The only multi-munitions weapon used by the Tornado's was the JP233 airfield denial weapon, and only at the start of the conflict.

The only time cluster bombs were loaded onto the Tornado's and Jaguar's was towards the end of the conflict, and they were US CBU-97's. By the time of the Gulf War (Desert Storm) the BL755 had already been taken out of RAF service.

The CBU-97's were never flown or dropped due to the cessation of the war.

Nice, I've had a few pints in Pelaw club :)

  7. Hi guys

are the weapon sets well molded etc? I'm building a couple 1/72 models including a Airfix Buccaneer and it especially needs a better ordnance load.

Was thinking of some resin replacements, but there's quite a bit in those H boxes for not too dissimilar cost...

    cheers
