  9. Mike, I have to write a statement to reply to these accusations myself, not to continue an argument, but to simply state where Ultimate Modelling Products falls in to all of this. We were approached by a third party last week asking us if we'd be interested in taking on a distributorship in the UK with TanModel. After discussions with Baris, we decided that TanModel was a company that we wanted to go into business with and get in on the ground floor of an up and coming model manufacturer. At no time what so ever have we asked for any information from TanModel regarding existing clients, buyers or prospective purchasers on either a private or commercial basis. We have have not and would never ask for anyones personal details now or in the future. I want people to understand that if this is a genuine request it did not come from us nor did we know anything about it at any time. We also had no idea of the relationship between BM & TanModel, all we understood was that he sold their kits, nothing more. As we now have the sole distributor rights to TanModel in the UK we will be selling to trade and public alike and we thought BM would be included in this as a trade purchaser. Thanks for your understanding UMP
  10. Hi Wolfgang Thanks for your review. We did find, with Hataka paints, that the colour of the paint makes a massive difference to the amount of thinner needed (darker (more pigment) needs more thinner than the lighter colours (less pigment)), but it does still work. In our opinion, they're not a very nice paint to use at all, even their own thinner doesn't work properly with them! With regards to the ingredients of our thinners, I'm sure you can appreciate that we don't want to give out any details about the formula, it took a long time and a lot of hard work to get the balance right to be able to work with ALL acrylic modellers paints. The best I can say is that if you add Ultimate Thinner to any (acrylic) paints, you shouldn't need any other additives what so ever except in extreme weather conditions - below 5º and above 35º Centigrade, but I can't imagine any one working in those conditions...lol. With regards to a German seller, we've had no approaches to date, but you can get our product from Finland, Greece, Sweden and Spain in Central Europe. All the best and thanks again for the great review

  14. We are pleased to announce the release of a new product in the Ultimate range - Ultimate Burnishing Liquid Our new product is a must for any armour modeller that likes to upgrade there AFV tracks to something like the Friul Models excellent metal track systems. For a non-uniform finish leaving a plethora of tonal variation that needs no extra weathering afterwards. Extensively tested to work with most types of metal track, but especially those from Friul Models, you can now naturally weather white metal tracks. Just dip the tracks in the liquid for a few minutes and the metal will begin to appear dark and rusty, easily and effortlessly. You can vary the effect using different dilutions and lengths of time in the solution as well as different types of agitation. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE...... Ensure the tracks are fully cleaned and degreased using water & washing up liquid and then dried thoroughly. Wearing protective gloves, pour the Ultimate Burnishing Liquid into a plastic container large enough to fully immerse the tracks Add 100ml - 125ml of plain tap water (you can use the now empty UMP Burnishing Liquid bottle for this) and mix thoroughly. Immerse track links in the solution, making sure they are fully covered. Move the tracks around to ensure all areas are treated and agitate using a stiff brush (a toothbrush is good for this) to ensure the fluid reaches the inner parts of the tracks. Don't forget to treat spare track links too. If treating the links when unassembled, use two separate smaller containers with sealed lids. Add half a bottle of burnishing liquid and 50ml of water to each tub. Put the lid on and shake the tub well to mix. Remove the tracks once the desired effect/colour has been achieved. You can vary this by leaving them in the solution for longer or shorter periods. 7 to 30 minutes treatment should give the desired effect. Immediately run the tracks under running water to neutralise any remaining fluid, then fully dry the tracks Now treat with your desired Ultimate washes and pigments, then seal with a matt varnish. Run an Ultimate sanding sponge along the raised surfaces to give a worn bare metal look if desired For smaller vehicle tracks you may not need to use the full bottle of fluid, adjust for the required amount.

  16. Hi Stew I can confirm that the three bottles we used for research purposes were all thinned 50/50 and sprayed with no problems at all at a pressure of 22-25psi. There is always room to manoeuvre with these recommendations, but 25% is quite a bit. There will be a difference for darker and lighter colours as there is usually a lot more pigment in darker colours, which would need more thinning. I wouldn't class RLM02 as a light colour, but we used the GB paint set for our tests. All the best UMP
