  1. Thank You for the info, I´ll change the color.
  2. This is the new Su-17 M4 from Kitty Hawk almost OOB. The only adittions were the fuel tanks and two extra fuselaje pylons taken from old KP Su-22. The kit includes a lot of armament but much of which is not appropriate for an SU-17/22 and in some cases are incomplete (FAB 500 M54 for example). Overall a great improvement over the old KP kit but not worth the price that Kitty Hawk asks for.
  3. Decals warning: If you are planning to use the small yellow data in the kit decals.... forget this ! The yellow print is not solid enough and disappears when you place it over brown o dark green Surface. You will need an aftermarket set for this.
  4. Kitty Hawk Su-17 is a piece of crap!!!!. It has a lot of fitting problems, in many places instructions are not clear, and for the Gand Finale..... the weapons.... They give you a lot of different weapons in four sprues but lot of them are not for Su-17/22 ( air to air missiles sutiable for a Mig 29 or Su-27 ) and if you want to use the FAB 500 bombs... surprise!!! they are incomplete!!!. This bombs are supoused to have 8 fins but Kitty Hawk decided to give you only 4. The funny part is they have ilustrated in the instructions the 8 fins but on the sprues are molded only four. But hey... you can have all this for ONLY about $80.00!!!!. This piece of crap should be around $25 -30 because is basicaly an OEZ with Little improvement. (IMHO).
  5. Well... it seems that all Kitty Hawk kits has a terrible fit and are plagued with errors! Currently I´m working on their Mig 25 and all I can tell is: the kit is a real scam for $80.00!!!!!. Anything fit and you have to make a lot of corrections to have a half decent Mig 25. A real nightmare!
  6. Hi Gabor Thanks for the info. I found a Pavel Vanka´s photo showing the R-40 with the protective covers: https://www.dropbox.com/s/pplhkdnruq9mtvr/948.jpg You are right about modeling the aircraft with this covers an safety pins but I would prefer to see the missiles without these red caps even if this is not 100% authentic, anyway I found very useful all the info about color you posted. About dielectric panels in both fins, should them be exactly the same in PDS version?
  7. Tom, could you post a photo of R-40 to use as a color reference please? Thanks.
  8. Hi Tom Cooper Thanks for the info about missile combination, I´m planning to do my Mig 25 Iraqi and wasn´t shure about armament.
  9. I think the best way fix this should be to sand the edge of holes in the airframe to make them as thin as possible and try to center the exhausts to split the gap between top and bottom...
  10. Hi Sharkmouth, Here is a couple of pictures.... https://www.dropbox.com/s/zltm09hicehmi08/PICTURE%201.jpg https://www.dropbox.com/s/lp1vfpha0w4ntd0/PICTURE%202.jpg ( Sorry but for some reason this doesn't allow me to post images direct from my computer desktop)
  11. About engines... don´t worry about counter rotating, or if is or not the correct type..... anyway they won´t fit!!!! Engines are about 2mm. short in diameter to fit the airframe. In fact anything in this model fit like it should for $80.00... is a REAL SCAM. This is my first and definitive my last kitty hawk kit and for shure is the WORST KIT I have seen in at least 20 years.
