  1. I'm keen. Returning to plastic kits after many years away, so don't get your hopes up for anything too startling, but I'm sure I'll have fun. Looking at doing 1 or more of the following ... 487(NZ) sqn Ventura I or II 487 later transfered to 2nd TAF and converted to the Mossie FB VI, so I guess that's out since it's no longer bomber command at this point. 75(NZ) sqn Wellington I, IC, or III 75(NZ) sqn Stirling I or III 75(NZ) sqn Lancaster B.I or B.III I'll now start looking to see what kits are available in 1/72, and what I can do about getting the correct decals. Another option if I want to get started a bit sooner is to build the Lancaster as ND917 which was a 75(NZ) sqn aircraft and was the first Brit heavy bomber to land in Normandy, on 30 June '44 - I guess this would qualify it for the D-Day group build starting on D-Day +70 years.
  2. Hi Guys You may be interested in these links ... More information on the fullsize conversion is available here http://www.unrealaircraft.com/hybrid/spitfire.php 1/48 resin conversion set for the Tamiya Mk Vb is available here http://www.dp9.com/fusion/KitPages/4801.htm I got the conversion set about 2 years ago, and it seems pretty good. I must build it sometime
  3. First published in 1983, here's the cover from the 1984 print off my bookshelf. The code letters are J-BO or J-BQ. But there are errors for the period portrayed, such as the proportions of the fin flash and the presence of the tail band, and I'm not too sure about the white spinner either.
