  1. I knew there was a catch somewhere!!!! So you have to buy a fourth kit to use the decals for some of the 3 kits?!!!! Gee, you'd better like Cobras! But if you love something, you don't count. I love this hobby! JR
  2. This look promising! Did I read right? 3 kits and NO decals? Do you have to buy after markets ones? If that is the case, the logic eludes me! Have fun! JR
  3. Hi John, your Spit is looking really smart! Great build and original scheme. Congrats through and through! JR
  4. Congrats for tacking these oldies and for getting such a convincing result. Did you play with the trenches on the model? Great job. JR
  5. Brilliant Corsairs Tony! Need I say I am disappointed about your comments on the Revell Corsair, as I was really expecting a faultless job from them. Oh well, there is still the Academy kit, so not all is lost. These FAA Corsairs do scrub up rather well and make a welcome change from VF-17 birds! Congrats JR
  6. Great choice Steve, although I am surprised you have any room left in your home for a 1/144 kit, let alone a mastodon like the Halifax, taking into account the rate at which you are churning out finished models!!! Known issues notwithstanding, it is a beautiful plane! I shall be peeping from time to time, if I may... Have fun! JR
  7. Steve, another gorgeous model... That's not a Hurricane version one sees every day! Congrats! But to come back to your production rate, you either never sleep or you build faster than your shadow! The thought of a sweat shop with dozens of slaves painting models for you even crossed my mind... Congrats, as always JR
  8. To brush paint Tamiya paints in a smooth way is no mean feat, believe me! My gospel is: Humbrol, yes. Tamiya never! So congrats for a great job! JR
  9. A beautiful little model. Great show! JR
  10. Impressive build so far! But then, an impressive airplane like the Thud does not deserve any less!!! Keep having fun! JR
  11. Brilliant work so far! To see the quality of your brush painting gives me hope that I can improve my poor excuse of a paint job! Have fun!!! JR
  12. Great plane! And very involved build! It looks promisingly exciting! I have my eyes on two of this kit I have sourced in South Africa, but I am quietly hoping Airfix will issue a new tool kit of the SMB2. Nothing wrong in dreaming.... The amount of work to bring this kit to decent standards looks rather scary... but so tempting! Good luck JR
  13. Everybody says it is a shake and bake kit.... So no pressure!!! Have fun. JR
  14. Golly Steve, I missed that WIP as well!!!!! What's wrong with me?! For an old Matchbox kit, this one looks absolutely brilliant!!! Oh well... I guess another congrats is due! Superb work! JR
  15. Hi Steve, I completely missed your WIP! Can't believe I did! Well, it looks like a great kit given a top treatment! Superb work, dare I say. Congrats JR PS: Glad you found your small "2" decals on the upper wings!
  16. Great trip down memory lane! It may not be your favourite Matchbox kit, but I have fond memories of this P-51. Unfortunately I don't have it in my stash any longer, but there are other Matchbox kits I will try and do justice one of these days! Well done! It looks smashing! JR
  17. Hi John, just caught up with this build of yours! Smashing as usual. I had never seen a close up of a Yahu IP and I dare say I am impressed. Possibly better than coloured etch. Something I may look into in the future! Keep up the great work! And have fun! JR
  18. It may feel like an overdose to you, but by God does it look good! Great performance, great models! JR
  19. Smashing Thunderbolt! Are the decals in the Academy boxing? These SEAC markings and camouflage sure change the outlook of the plane. And welcome on this forum by the way! I read your profile: when you say North of the wall, are we talking Adrian, Berlin, Great Wall, Western Wall, etc? Keep having a lot of fun! JR
  20. Your Tiger looks great! I built it eons ago when I had never heard of rescribing,,, but I still like the way it looks with raised panel lines. It was a most enjoyable build, so I am sure you had loads of fun building it! Congrats JR
  21. These two models look good, especially the A-4, of which I am a great fan. So decals soon! More importantly: you never know when you'll need spare Wildcat wings!!! Another cosmic law never to mess with! Have fun! JR
  22. Hi Enzo, another great duo! I am more interested in your 109 (not that I do not like Spitfires!) as I am busy building one too. So far you are doing a fantastic work. Congrats JR
  23. Great paint scheme! I will never cast a stone towards the "old" Monogram P-47D. With some (OK, quite a lot...) of TLC this kit still scrubs very well! Well done! JR
  24. I started this very same model last year and I stopped at the painting stage. Bottom line, I do not trust the Academy decals! What was your take on them? Your model is really great, and as much as I hate to admit it, I believe we all make mistakes along the way, hoping nobody will notice them!!! I looked very, very hard, and spotted a small one only. So that's more than I can say about my builds... Congrats JR
  25. Hi Jaro, this is my favourite period of my favourite service! This BT-1 is pure eye candy as far as I am concerned!!! Beautiful build through and through! JR
